Resistance Is Futile - Release Tourney |
Introduction |
For this limited format tournament I wanted to try something unexpected and to bulk up on anti-cheese cards. With the number of virtual Ferengi available I decided to give them a try. I also grabbed a set of dilemas that were either going to do really well, or flop horribly. |

Round 1 | | Kurtis Correia | FW (+40)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Turn one against Kurtis I tried to bring my Q's plannet into play but was prevented from doing so by Strategema. Also on turn one I went and completed Kurtis' Wormhole Negotiations. Kurtis was playing a heavy treachery deck and had be worried because my dilema combos wouldn't work well against that type of deck.
I was able to win by completing two of my plannets, but Kurtis was also one mission from victory. |

Round 2 | | Roxanne Barbour | FW (+90)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
On turn one against Roxanne I tented for "Espionage: Romulan on Fed", played it on earth, and stole it. I completed two more of Roxanne's missions for the game. |
10-100 loss to James.
James stole 3 of my missions for the win.
I did launch the Phoenix again.

Round 3 | | Kenneth Tufts | MW (+85)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Against Ken I had it all going for me. He couldn't pass my dillema combos so all really needed to do was complete some missions for the win.
Turn one I got my Q's Planet out and completed it (hitting a Balancing act for -50 points for Ken and a Barclay's Protomorphosis Disease for 10 for me.) Next turn I built a Colony on it, but Ken came over to oppose me and with mighty Soong Type Andriods made my Ferengi run in fear.
Ken hit a seeded balancing act before being locked out of the mission by my last dillema and then started scoring points on my Colony. I ended up completing two of my planet missions before we timed out and I won. |
Well James knew what I planed to play and he came to counter it, myself forgetting to include stratigema among the 11 or so ref cards I stoked meant turn 1 he Q's planeted and balancing acted, followed by hitting a second under my first mission meant I was in the hole big time but he built a colony on that Q's Plant and my STA's decided to take it over alright I had a way out of the hole eventually however a last min change to my deck had taken the trechery x2 person out of it and I have no way to ever solve a mission with his dilemmas DOH! but I didn't not realize I'd taken the guy out game timed out with me trying to dig through my deck for a guy that wasn't in it and racking up colony points that would never count because of intermix lol...
Also with him playing Ferengi I could never destroy a Borg ship for points as writ would just kill me. |
