While the 1E regionals had 6 participants, the tribbles tournament had 8 players, and it was a very fun and nice tournament. Not everybody at the table had their own decks, so I lent Johanna my nationals deck from last year (Go Go Go), and David borrowed my "Score points without going out" deck, the previous incarnation of the deck I played myself. I also lent a deck to Humuhumunukunukuapua and Harald, but those decks didn't go very well.
In the first round, Niklas Lind went out with 111111 points, but I was second after scoring 100,000 from a Utilize. In the two rounds after that I was less successfull, and could only score low points from my Toxins, while Cristoffer went out twice, the second time with a stunning 1234 tribbles :D . The fourth round was a bit longer and Johanna went out, while I scored another 100000 from a Utilize. When the fifth and last round was about to begin it was very close between Johanna, David and myself. Quite early in the round Johan was poisoned and showed a 100,000 antidote. He didn't want to end the round though, since he now had a shot at the victory if the round went on. But Johanna was able to go out for the second time, and won the tournament. David ended up second and myself I finished third.
This is the 3rd time the Go go go deck is being played, different players each time, and the 3rd time it wins the tournament. |
