Tournament Report - 2E
2014-12-14 - 03:00 PM
StarfleetDelphic Imperium
Introduction
I put this deck together at 9:00am the morning of the tournament for two reasons: first, because I've never won with Starfleet before, and second, because everyone always expects me to play Terok Nor or Dominion so I like to switch it up every so often to throw them off.

Round 1FerengiAlex PauleyFW (+100)
Alex has really taken to Ferengi and she plays them well. She managed to keep me shut out but took too long on her turns. At time, she wasn't satisfied with the modified win so she activated the text on Quark's Treasure. In the end, the Ferengi's greed cost her the game - 100 to nothing. Is there a rule that would apply? ;-)

Round 2BorgGreg HodginFW (+15)View opponent's Report
I've never beaten Greg in a tournament before. This game went well and for once I made no unforced errors. I kept him on the ropes, solving two of my three before he even got going, but then he kept me stalled while he solved two. I thought he would once again snatch my victory from me, but in the end I managed to get two ships out and attempting my final mission and with my events protected and no Timescape for him and a well placed Necessary Execution on his last attempt, there was nothing he could do.

Round 3TNGMatthew Montgomery FW (+30)
This Fed weenie deck really gave me a run. But, my moral choices saved me while I amassed an army to attempt my third mission. Like the Soviets on the Eastern front, I just kept throwing bodies at his dilemma pile until he simply couldn't stop enough any more. But, I suspect he was one or two turns away from winning.

Closing Thoughts
My first tournament victory over Greg was made sweeter by the win. But, I realize that, like all tournament wins, this was equal parts luck and skill (okay, all luck in the first game!). But, I'll take it.
