Daniel Matteson (OKCoyote) Tournament Report - 1E - Online Event 2012-08-18 - 12:00 AM Starter Deck II: Electric Boogaloo Introduction Well on first glance this pool looked insane. I had an Alternate Universe Door and Beware of Q, allowing me to seed all my dilemmas and allow me to get to 30 seed slots with no mis-seeds. Because of this, I seeded dilemmas under *every* mission to discourage mission stealing. For the most part, this tactic was successful. In addition, the pool contained a Time Travel Pod, 2 Red Alerts, and 2 Palor Toffs. Round 1 Matt Kirk FL (-70) I had trouble finding key skills and got outraced here. Matt did a good job stalling me off with cards such as Docking Procedures and Rogue Borg. However, one fun moment was in solving my Search for Weapons. Matt didn't have an AU door so was forced to mis-seed some cards. When I attempted SfW, all five seed cards were actually hand weapons! I immediately solved and picked up a boatload of weapons to boot. Round 2 Paddy Tye FL (-100) My worst fears realized here as my ship got trapped on one end of the spaceline by a Q-Net. I only had one Diplomacy in my entire card pool so couldn't pass it, and this game was over before it really began. Round 3 Jon Carter FW (+45) Actually managed to win this game, as I finally had a game where I picked up my Time Travel Pod, and those five free turns allowed me to solve enough other missions to get to 100. Closing Thoughts Weird crazy card pool but was still fun. I love a good sealed game.
