StarfleetNationally Damaged
Introduction
Finally got out to Orlando to play in one of our sister playgroup's events. I don't own many physical 2E cards yet, so for Standard, I looked for something I thought could compete while being mostly printable. Since I have a box of To Boldly Go I thought of Starfleet, and hit on Naetor's Nationals deck. I don't own all the cards - particularly the Disruptive Presences, and only one These Are the Voyages - but I swapped in acceptable replacements, plus the couple crew members needed for the Crew Quarters achievement. Luckily I drew Nathan Samuels in my opening hand for all three matches.

Round 1KlingonThomas KamiuraFW (+85)
I wanted to be cautious with TK's Klingons because he's feared for his battle deck and was wary of cards like Kruge. Fortunately we never got into a battle this match. I was first to solve with Eliminate Sphere Network for 50 points, and went for my Delphic planets afterward. TK solved one 30 point mission - I believe it was Rescue Prisoners - and also played an At What Cost to try to catch up - but my deck outraced, and I also got really lucky with a few random selections - for example picking Kruge with a Hard Time, leaving him with no Intelligence for Rogue Borg Ambush. Time was called on his turn, but he was unable to solve any more, and I completed my third mission on my turn for the full win.

Round 2DS9-EarthRick KinneyFW (+45)View opponent's Report
Rick was playing DS9-Earth with cadets. My game plan stayed the same, though I struggled with the skills for Eliminate Sphere Network early on, and opted for Breach Barrier first instead. Rick actually managed two missions but I still got my third done just after time was called for the full win.

Round 3TOSJoseph BazemoreFW (+75)
This was my first time meeting Joe (TK and Rick have both been to my events). Joe was running a TOS deck with a lot of 4-cost personnel, many of which were pitched to Sabotage Transporters to kill my personnel and slow me down. Unfortunately, he seemed to stall early on, and spent so many resources slowing me down that he didn't get many personnel into play himself. I had two missions solved before he even left his headquarters, and solved my third after he had only made one mission attempt.

Closing Thoughts
I'm still in disbelief that I finally got a win over TK who has regularly mopped the floor with my playgroup on the east coast. This deck played well thanks to some good opening hands. My prize was a pack of Reflections 2.0, and it was nice to meet Joe and even traded with him a little after the event. Thanks to Rick for running the event and to TK for help with transportation.
