Introduction |
Similar to my 2008 World's deck. Delay, delay, and delay your opponent. |
|
Round 1 | | Kris Sonsteby | ML (0)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Hard fought game. Kris solved his 1st mission in 1 attempt because my dilemma's whiffed. Our dilemma's hold each other off after that; but that 1st mission solve gives him the lead the whole game. My Biogenic Weapon/Strange New Worlds combo helps me try to catch up; but to no avail; though it does keep Kris from getting the full win. ML (35-65) |
The Full Nelson was again rocking his ancient Maquis deck, and without event destruction I was caught in a choke hold following a Biogenic Weapon. Two amazing dilemma draws on his part while I was double teaming Eliminate Sphere Network thwarted the full win at the buzzer. MW 65-35. |

Round 2 | | Ben Johnson | FW (0)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Brutal game for Ben. Defiant comes out early forcing multiple redraws. Stalling For Time his high cost peeps. Kalita his Energize, then Defiant over it. Cascade Virus his Ptol making him pay full cost for no benefit. My only mistake was playing An issue of Trust against his Neral. (oops) I luckily have a big enough lead to get the win. FW (100-65) |
Defiant under Maquis control is annoying! I managed to get one or two missions completed after finally being able to draw a ship. Good game though. |
|
Round 3 | | Brandon Peacock | MW (0) |
No Full win for either of us. I Bioweapon his only planet. He has to complete 4 missions. (Yay!) He kills enough of my Maquis peeps at Elude Federation Forces to deny me 10 bonus points; but complete the mission. This forces me to try and complete 4 missions. (yuk) I complete 3 missions, Giving me a modified win. Oh for those 10 bonus points! MW (95-80) |

Round 4 | | Jeremy Benedict | FW (0)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Defiant comes out early giving Jeremy a tough game. During his 1st mission attempt, I kill 2 or 3 peeps. I Stall For Time another luckily destaffing his ship. It took forever for him to get another ship with Defiant and Shankaar forcing him to redraw cards. By the time he got another ship, I was up two missions and nearly completing a 3rd. FW (100-0)

Long history with this TNG deck means I know that Maquis is the worst thing that can happen to it. The whole idea is to play and draw as much as possible as fast as possible, and Maquis means you replay and redraw over and over again. Steve doesn't need to do much more that the usual Maquis tricks to slow me down to a crawl, but he gets me destaffed between a nasty first mission attempt and a Stalling for Time to bounce staffing so I had to get more people out. I had a ship in hand but no staffing available, so I have to burn all the resources I had just to draw out all the people I could get to fly it. Even with a better draw of dilemmas than I had against Nat, Steve can take care of the rest and easily blanks me. |
