Introduction
Sector 001 1E Constructed OTF Regional It was another awesome day at Scott's house for this year's regional event. Again Scott went above an beyond the call of duty as tournament director/host. The day would contain all 3 separate Regionals for Sector 001. Better known to me as the Trek CCG marathon. The last 1E tournament held here was held in February of this year. Since then we have picked up two new players to the region. Which is very exciting. This particular tournament was very diverse in affiliation which is one of the best things a tournament can have !

Round 1KlingonMike Camp SrFW (+100)
The first round for me kicked off with Mike. The last game in the last tournament that I played in was against Mike in the final round. It was a very close game. So when I saw Mike begin to seed facilities and missions I got worried because the deck looked very similar to the last tournament deck he played and that deck was very fast. We started off the game by the end of turn one we both had a few people out but when things began to change for me was turn 2. Mike seeded no dilemmas under my Empok Nor so I quickly flew over and commandeered the station to grab the downloaded equipment from my deck. The TOS characters in my deck would be pumped up double by my equipment selections in this deck. Next turn I quickly flew over to a planet mission and completed using my crew and gained the Time Travel Pod Artifact. A turn later when Mike began to move I played the Pod on his ship freezing him for 5 which would give me enough turns for the win. (FW 100-0)

Round 2BajoranMicah MorrisonFW (-100)
Micah was a returning player much like myself. He came across his old cards wondered if anyone was still playing and bang he found the TrekCC so he is back in the game. ("Brings a tear to me eye" every time) Tournament factoid here - Micah ran a 5K marathon before this tournament before the 9AM start time WOW - Micah was playing Bajorans. This affiliation always makes me a little on edge because I am not that familiar with their skill sets/weaknesses/strengths. Micah was playing with a Bajoran deck built with all original decipher cards. His mechanic of getting Morn to Quark's on DS9 for extra card draws was slick. It provided him with extra card draws for to grab personnel that would report for free to his Chamber and also feed his resistance report for free mechanism. However, the first few turns went the exact same for me - No Seeds under Empok Nor - Commandeered - Equipment DL - Attempted mission - acquired Time Travel Pod - Sent him out for 5 turns which was enough time for the win. Micah had a nasty combo against me on my last mission attempt. He drained my medical a couple of times with his dilemmas combos then used "DNA Clues" then "Aphasia Device" which would have quarantined my entire crew next turn killing all of them at the end of the next turn. I had luckily DL USS Enterprise A then used its special DL to grab Commander Chekov to solve Analyze Radiation by himself for the win. (FW 100-0)

Round 3KlingonNathan MiracleFW (-65)
Nathan is a super smart player. His understanding of mechanics is awesome. I had expected to see a couple of TNG decks at this tournament based on some of the new cards from TNG "which are great thanks CC" Sure enough Nathan was playing one of them and really had an incredible grasp on the functions of the new cards. He was playing TNG Klingons. He started with lots of free plays and card draws of personnel via the usage of seeded cards from the TNG set. Very scary because of the amount of people out on turn one. Turn one and two went very much the same for me once again no seeded dilemmas at Empok Nor - so - Commandeered - Equipment DL - Attempted mission - acquired Time Travel Pod. I held the pod in hand a couple of turns until he had a large group of people together to get a better effect. Nathan's people were spread out amongst a couple of facilities. So I had to wait until they were mostly together to maximize the effect of the pod - which eventually a few got together but he quickly beamed them down before I played the pod he completed the mission the next turn. Then when they beamed up I quickly played the pod and froze him for 5. He still had enough personnel to attempt but wasn't successful again before I completed my missions for 100 points. Yet again, Commander Chekov (by himself) on the USS Enterprise A at Analyze Radiation for the win. (FW 100-35) Enough to give me enough SoS to win the Tournament over Christopher Coyle who also had 12VPs.
