Romulan Brisbane Sealed Regional |
Introduction |
So what's a boy to do when given a Romulan virtual starter, Klingon missions in boosters, plus Data and the Enterprise? It's TRIPLE TREATY TIME! Which is a shame, because I'd been anticipating a day of mission stealing. |

Round 1 | | Garry Dillon | FL (-100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Garry's Klingons tore through my dilemmas for breakfast, apparently being hungry for the first game of the day. Learned a few lessons about the deck, which could be applied later. |
Played straight. Draw cards and report, attempt, reattempt.
Was lucky in that matt was stopped several times by dilemnas. |
|
Round 2 | | Michael Dillon | FW (+60) |
This time the dilemmas did their job, slowing Michael down too much. |
|
|
Round 3 | | Adam Hegarty | FW (+100) |
Adam got stopped in space at his first mission attempt, which happened to be in range of 2 Warbirds, losing all his personnel. He managed to build up a 2nd crew on the Enterprise, but that was also blown up. Meantime I managed to get my missions. |
|
|
Round 4 | | Greg Dillon | FW (+25) |
By this point, I was pretty familiar with the dilemmas in the Fed virtual starter. Seeding only 2 space missions meant I had a 50/50 chance of predicting what dilemmas would be faced in space, which worked out for me. Greg's aggressive micro-teams got him the first mission quickly, but backfired at the 2nd mission (Interphasic Plasma Creatures hit). Game ended when Greg was stopped by a Maglock, and I only had to wait for Friendly Fire to countdown on my 3rd mission on the next turn. |

Closing Thoughts |
1E sealed was a very fun format, look forward to having more opportunities to try that in Sydney. Shame I lost my first game, meaning that SoS knocked me to 3rd place despite winning against one of the other 3-1 players, and not facing the other. I had been looking forward to face Ben Dillon, I'm sure we'll meet in future :) |
