Infiltration V2 |
Introduction |
I decided to put my infiltration Deck to use. Searching for my first tournament victory. Instead I got a pasting just like the Klingons at Archer 4.
PLEASE BE ADVISED, Rick wrote that the directions about Sci-Fi City being next to the Pet Smart are incorrect. I drove around the plaza seven times, with the baby wailing and my wife giving me directions from the back seat while asking me to pull over to ask for directions. I finally pulled over at another Pet store, this one called Pets Mart and he lady pointed me in the right direction. SO difficult. |

Round 1 | | Joseph Bazemore | ML (-30) |
Joe, is a real jerk. He came over to my house a week before and copied my entire deck. Furthermore he improved upon it using his Virtual cards and Cheesiness to remove Dilemmas from the game. I am pretty sure he stole some of my rares, my last bag of Cheetos as well and took a bottle of milk from my baby while he was sleeping. He is a creep. Even with my better deck, skills, and good looks I could not beat Joe's strategy of attempting to be as cheep as Eric. So I decided to kill off as many of his personnel as possible until his vessels were unstaffed. So that he wont get a full win. Joe won because he had the better strategy and cards. His deck was larger than mine but he was able to defunct my mission attempts. I need cards to slide through mission attempts easier. HE taught me a lesson. |

Round 2 | | Rick Kinney | FL (-45)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Every time I play Rick, I learn something. It feels like I have been playing backwards and he gives me tips that help improve my game and my decks. Rick came in off the bat with Dukat Pah-Wraith Puppet. I always thought this as a good card but after Rick explained it to me, its a GREAT card. He played his hand cool. And attempted a missions before me. I was jealous of his Morn at DS9. I got a fast lead after one completed space mission and a Bunch of failed attempts on his part. His NA were not flashy at all. And his skill triumph over my Flashy infiltrator deck as usual. He had me going, thinking this would be my first FW at a tournament. But He played it cool right up to the end, when I failed 4 times to complete my planet mission. His dilemma pile was well done as usual and he didn't need to combo dilemmas. He played Emergency Transport Unit well to save his guys. I lost to skill today. I think my deck was better but a better deck does not match with skill. |
Ed was playing an Infiltrator Dominion deck and using his ship to score bonus points every time I failed a mission attempt. He also had all Alpha Quadrant missions and Distant Explorations for more bonus points. It is a good plan and it was working. However, I was just able to keep on dinging away at my missions to pull out a full win late in the game, 105-60. |

Closing Thoughts |
Tom K gave me a great tip. "I didn't win a tournament game when I first started playing for six months" That gave me hope. Hope that if I can do it in my next tournament, then I can still be a good player. If not, then I will kill Tom, Decapitate his head and perform the quickening to take his knowledge . . . its the only way.
Rick bolstered my ego, by telling me he re-design a new deck just for me, because he was going to play DOM again and I made comment about it. I smiled. But I hope all that read this know, that these are jokes and I don't mean any of it. I just want people to smile when they go through my shit. |
