Introduction |
Been wanting to mess around with HBI for a while, and got pulled in about 4 different directions. Stay tuned for more... |

Round 1 | | James Heaney | FL (-35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I knew my deck would be bad against MEDICAL dilemmas, and James had MEDICAL dilemmas. I knew my deck would be bad vs. The Arsenal, and James had The Arsenal. Bashir got Oathed, and the rest of an Away Team got Plagued. In space I faced some Pawns of the Military stuff (Shout out to Surmak Ren for nullifying Aphasia Device after it got put on my ship)

We turtled our spacelines. I drew very badly.
I cleared some dilemmas. Jason cleared some dilemmas. MEDICAL drain vs. HBI Federation proved fairly effective. A very clever OFFICER drain scheme on his part scared me off from attempting Pegasus Search (where I foresaw Authorized Access Only / Cytherians / Maglock and got scared), but having most of my OFFICER be holograms meant Punishment Box / A Bad End wasn't nearly as effective as expected.
I think Telepathic Alien Kidnappers (which was played but not used) could have potentially done a lot of damage to me at key moments with some luck, but obviously I didn't say that at the time. :P
By some horrifying circumstance, I couldn't draw or even download any Navigation for a few turns, despite being a key mission skill, but McKnight arrived in time to score all my points for the MW. |

Round 2 | | Joe Kallstrom | ML (-11) |
I cleared out Jeraddo, but didn't go back to solve in case an Edo Probe was at my next mission. It was, giving me an easy Abandon option. I had trouble with further attempts, though. At one point I got complacent and left myself open to attack in space. When I realized this, I wondered why Joe wasn't attacking me. And then he did, blowing up a runabout with 6-8 personnel on board.
Joe got through my planet combo eventually, then played Ocular Implants and peeked at a space mission. He proceeded to read the requirements of Authorized Access Only, until I stopped him and asked him if he remembered what the BB icon did. He smiled and said no. I then explained that if you peek at such a dilemma outside of a mission attempt, then it goes on the mission and blocks you from attempting it just like Edo Probe, well, just like Edo Probe used to work. Whomp whomp.
Time is running out, and I'm kicking myself for forgetting about Dabo, so at the buzzer Joe's higher-point mission + PO:Mining give him the W. |

Round 3 | | Robert Petersen | FW (+100) |
This was my worst draw, since I didn't have turn one Surprise Party, but it was also my best draw, since I was attempting on turn two. Stay tuned for more... |
