KlingonKlingon Riker Sword - Don\'t time out
Introduction
I haven't been motivated nor have I had the time to do much with my cards since the Regional. I played OK on that day, but I was mostly annoyed about the lack of games that made it to completion. I've always had some version of Klingon Riker Sword put together, and the only dilemma pile I had that wasn't specifically related to a deck was a new version of a TT/ACE pile I found to playtest against. It wasn't exactly a great match, but it's all I had to go with today.

Round 1Eric BiecheFL (-70)
Eric was playing a standard version of his Android deck, but he had a rough start when it seemed to take forever for him to find a ship. I had a great start, my opening hand was literally 5 personnel and 2 ships. I finished my space mission as he was just getting off the ground, but my ship got stuck in the mud when he played Surprise Amnity. I was making ground on Rescue Prisoners, but had to fly back for reinforcements when his Overburdened got 3/3 kills. Then, a timely Insurrection hit Rescue Prisoners after Eric finished his second mission. Eric got a ton of people out of his discard pile after completing Starbase 718 and had ample bodies to double team his final mission and secure the win. A hard fought win for Eric, and we finished with just 3 minutes to spare.

Round 2Brian LeonardFW (+80)
Brian was playing old-school Voyager and had a tough time dealing with the kills from my dilemma pile, specifically The Weak Will Perish. My Klingons mowed through his dilemmas and even Brian's Field Studies couldn't keep up the pace with the Klingon solving power. We finished in 20 minutes and Maggie/Eric went into overtime.

Round 3TNGMaggie GeppertML (-40)View opponent's Report
Maggie was playing a TNG Integrity deck I hadn't seen her play before. Sadly, I made some errors at her first mission attempt. I had two different ways I could go with the dilemmas I had drawn and the choice I made was fine, but the skills I was naming really didn't make sense and I wasted the few kills that I got. Maggie seemed to have several cards that not only negated kills like ETU and Escape, but she was also running Lingering Grief which kept me from sniping specific skills. Again, I had an opportunity to destroy an event, but in retrospect, didn't choose the right one. The Klingons kept pace, and I wasn't really out of this game. Unfortunately, I didn't get a great draw at Maggies final attempt and she was able to keep her Andrea Brand (with 2 Leadership) alive till the end of the mission and was able to complete before I could get through Brute Force. We finished with just 2 minutes left on the clock.

Closing Thoughts
I really don't play my best with a TT/ACE pile. There's too much second guessing for me and I think I talk myself out of what might be an effective stack. I was happy to see that the draw deck performed extremely well. I was never searching for a ship or mission skills. The only complaint I had about the draw deck was that in my games with Eric and Brian - they did not play Transport Crash Survivor, and I did not have The Sword to help with micro-teaming. The Sword did hit the table in my game with Maggie, but TCS was also out so I couldn't microteam. I was surprised that even with a focus on finishing games today, two of my games almost went into overtime. Thanks to Maggie for running the event again today and to Eric and Brian for coming out in some lousy weather to play.
