Tournament Report - 2E

Introduction
I got the DS9 Starter for this event. I made a few changes with the cards out of my virtual boosters; namely I got rid of any events and replaced them with more personnel. Three of my missions had double skill requirements and I was worried that would be a tall order for a sealed event.

Round 1KlingonEric BiecheFW (+100)
Eric drew the Klingon deck and over committed to an engagement that didn't go anywhere and never quite recovered. I didn't have any trouble getting the double skills I needed for my missions, Sisko was huge with his attribute adding ability, and the dilemmas worked great.

Round 2RomulanMaggie GeppertFL (-65)
I made some grievous mistakes in this game that likely cost me a chance at the win. Pretty much the same problem I've had in many losses that I've never seemed to learn from. I didn't draw all the good skills in this game like I had in the last, so I had to try the Planet/Strength mission first instead of one of the space missions. I had a decent stack of dilemmas underneath, but tried to grind it out way too long instead of returning to my HQ for some fresh faces. That wasted time and some unfortunate discards of my Bajoran ships, cost me in the late game as I was short on Command stars and couldn't staff a second ship to make up for lost time. Maggie played great and the Romulans were much more difficult to stop than Eric's Klingons.

Round 3TNGJesse J KastenFW (+65)
Jesse had some rotten luck with random selections and I knocked out my first two missions quickly. He didn't give up though and I got stalled on my last mission looking for a second Astrometrics to finish the game. Jesse made a come back but came up short when he just didn't have the range to reach all his missions.

Closing Thoughts
The new starters bring in some new cards and missions I wouldn't normally use. It was a fun time and I don't think any one deck was seriously over or under powered.
