CardassianEvek Capture V3.2
Introduction
I've really been looking forward to this month's tournament. I've been doing absolutely no gaming whatsoever since the last event. Having a rotten cold, work being crazy, and trying to enjoy the last days of nice weather before the winter starts hasn't left me a lot of time for gaming of any kind. It was nice to finally get out to play and I was surprised to see Josh Sheets at the store today. Just as surprising was the arrival of MvB and Amber. I figured they would be saving cash for a trip to Australia and I would not see them at locals for quite some time.

Round 1ByeBY (0)
I randomly got the bye. I sweated during the first half of round one. This was the first month that the start time was switched to 12 instead of 1230. Casey Wickum had pre-registered for the tournament and did not show up at noon. I was hoping that he had taken into account the new start time, but he ended up being a no-show.

Round 2DS9-EarthMichael MoskopFW (+100)View opponent's Report
Michael and I completed a 12 card massive trade before the tournament. This is only our second tournament game against each other. My Cardassians got off to a great start with Greasy Dukat placing cards out of play early. This powered The Caretaker's Guests and helped me to exploit Michael's lack of engineer which really delayed his first mission attempt. I slowly built up the snow-ball of captives, related events, and dilemmas to bring his progress to an absolute halt. Shran, especially, added to Michael's frustration as I was able to retrieve dilemmas and prevent him from gaining any momentum. Labor Camp scored a mission's worth of points for me and I was able to win by solving only 2 missions - an ideal game for the capture deck.

Round 3StarfleetAmber Van BreemenMW (+35)
Amber was playing an alternate universe version of Starfleet, relying heavily on the Defiant and having no cards in hand. I thought this would be an ideal match-up for me - all I would need to do is get a captive and Psychological Pressure in play and she would never be able to pass a dilemma against me. This strategy sort of worked, but my mission solving did not go so great. Amber was able to stall me at my first space mission for quite some time. Luckily, I was able to get a captive and start racking up points with Labor Camp. Amber and I both finished a space mission, but my bonus points gave me the modified win.

Round 4CardassianEdward PigmanMW (+65)
Ed was playing a no frills Cardassian solver. He had some capture tech in there, but he was depending more on cycling through his deck quickly with the new ship guys and other card drawing resources to get what he needed to win. Luckily for me, I got an early Greasy Dukat and was able to keep ships out of his lost pile to force him to keep discarding. Much like the last game, we both took forever to complete a mission. Ed had drawn and discarded so much that if he did not play a Back to Basics, I knew he would have trouble in the later stages of the game. He definitely ran out of tricks and I was able to keep him from completing a mission. I finished a planet and space, but couldn't close out the last mission for the full win.
