BajoranCardassianMaquisID Draft 022413
Introduction
Continuing with our league theme this year, we are completing the circuit of format events with ID Draft. I made a special effort to prepare the draft packs in a way that they could be disassembled and re-sorted into their original state and re-used for a future tournament. Before I cut the cards for the draft packs, I printed on the reverse side of the sheet "F_T_C; A-1" for example for sheet 1 for player A. I got all the v-cards back after the tournament and now I can re-use the draft kit for another event without having to reprint and recut cards.

Round 1ByeBY (0)
The draft was a success. I spent quite a bit of time thinking about how I would draft and what type of deck I wanted to build while cutting the cards for this event. I wanted to play Triple HQ and use only dual dilemmas and try to make a deck that would score a lot of achievements I wouldn't normally go for. I think I accomplished that, but my strategy backfired slightly in my game with Brian and I could have made a better dilemma pile since I didn't draft enough dual dilemmas to get the dual only achievement. But I still played 19 dual dilemmas and there were a few I could have replaced with better Planet or Space only dilemmas.

Round 2CardassianMaggie GeppertFW (+35)
The Triple HQ worked great as I was able to get people on the table quickly and paying the up-cost to play them all at the same HQ didn't affect my speed at all. Maggie and I slugged it out at our first missions, but she only had one copy of Biology and I was able to stop her longer. Nothing too exciting happened, we just ground out dilemmas with the awful personnel we drafted. I was just a slight step ahead.

Round 3Brian LeonardFL (-35)View opponent's Report
I got to go first in this game and got off to a great start. I completed my planet mission on my second attempt and I felt like I could do no wrong. Brian started attempting with 7 and I felt I could stop him easily with minimal dilemmas getting stacked. The game took a turn for the worst when I tried to put the pressure on and switched my crew from the Olarra to a Bajoran Interceptor. Brian was able to kill the two Bajorans I had on the ship, including some key mission skills, and I the majority of my personnel were stranded at my space mission. Brian completed his planet mission and I barely stopped him in space. On my turn I did not draw into the necessary personnel to re-staff the Olarra and finish the game. Brian got another turn and I drew some horrible dilemmas and he got the come-back win and his third win of the day.

Closing Thoughts
Congrats to Brian for a huge win today. He's got quite a lead now in league points and will make it tough to catch him in the final two events. I'm excited to get back to constructed deck event to finish the league for this year and start preparing for Regionals.
