Introduction
I wasn't sure what to play today. I hadn't had much time to work on decks recently. I had a capture deck that needed a new dilemma pile, and an Assimilation deck that I haven't played in a long time. The Voyager deck that I've been playing for quite some time was looking like the best bet, but I was afraid that the dilemma pile was too reliant on non-skill dilemma's. Overburdened is enough of a deterrent to me to risk playing too many non-skill dilemmas.

Round 1ByeBY (0)
BYE the way, the big prize for this event was the A Sight for Sore Eyes foil that was given away at the Australian world championships. I won all three worlds foils during the worlds weekend events, I'm putting all 3 up for grabs; the Tr foil will go to the winner of todays Tr league event, and the 1E foil will go at the IL Regional.

Round 2TNGBrian LeonardFW (+30)View opponent's Report
Brian had just beat Eric's Guidance/KmTar deck so I was pretty sure he was bringing his "A" game to stay ahead of the league rankings. I needed to win this game, and the event, to make up league points to hope to have a chance to catch him. Brian was playing a TNG Diplomacy solver with mostly high-cost personnel. We both got off to solid starts, and I completed Caretaker's Array on my second try while Brian went planet first and Investigated some Maquis Activity. I was able to stop him at least twice, but he finally got OT Kirk on table and, in combination with Mot, was able to complete his mission. I was well into Instruct Advanced Drone when Brian started his second planet mission. I almost gave away the game with a bad dilemma play, thinking that the Battleship TNG crew were devoid of Honor, I played Temptation instead of An Issue of Trust and Brian was able to complete on his first try. Luckily he was out of range and couldn't go off to his final mission. My next turn was pretty strong and I was able to get enough elements in play to un-stop personnel with Chakotay and make the most of a relatively weak dilemma stack by Brian and secure the win.

Round 3TNGEdward PigmanFW (+60)
Ed was playing a really cool Loaded for Bear deck that utilized low-point missions, micro-teaming, and bonus points to secure the win. He was able to stop me for several turns at Caretaker's while he built up his crew for the Bear - scoring some bonus points along the way. His first attempt was at his own Caretakers array, and a fortunate dilemma play for me would force him to return to his HQ on his next turn. Because of the additional range cost traveling to and from the Delta Quadrant, Ed pretty much lost a turn going back home. He had some pretty bad dilemma draws and really didn't have too many options to deal with the Chuckles brothers and I didn't have much difficulty in taking the win.

Closing Thoughts
I won the tournament and completed part 1 of my attempt to keep Brian from winning the league. I also get to keep a pretty cool foil that I wouldn't otherwise have access to. I really like Ed's deck, I think he needs to re-evaluate the way he plays it and he will have something that's really outside the norm and difficult to beat at the same time.
