Introduction
Noticed that the deck I played at Nationals was eligible for a special win achievement so I decided to give it a try at a local before any of the cards got errata'd.

Round 1VoyagerBrian LeonardFW (+85)
Brian was playing an old-school Voyager today with some matching commander and dilemma reduction tech. I got off to a good start going second and downloading the usual suspects to get my early points to power Jaresh and AWC. While you can never truly destaff Voyager, my dilemmas were able to kill off enough people to keep Brian from attempting two turns in a row. Combined with Aid Legendary, I managed a comfortable cushion to secure the win before Brian really got his tech going. A couple of key consumes with Field Studies and all the cumulative matching captain stuff, Brian can catch up quickly.

Round 2FerengiMaggie GeppertFW (+65)
Maggie had a slow start this game and didn't find a ship till after I already had my first mission complete. With that much of a head start, she didn't really have a chance when I completed Aid Legendary and set her back even further.

Round 3BorgEdward PigmanFW (+50)
Ed was playing a borrowed assimilator from Eric. He had a great start and cycled through the deck quickly with Miracle Working. He had a couple of Invasive Drones and had scored some bonus points with Annexation Drones and when I played Guinan. I probably had my worst start and knew Ed would wait until I started attempting so he could get his assimilating going so I took the bait and started in space. He stopped the attempt and landed a Breached on my ship. The next turn I had lost 3 to the Borg, but I was able to snipe 2 of them with some ACE and some kill dilemma's on Ed's first attempt. I finished my space mission and tried to focus down on Aid Legendary after playing a second ship. Ed killed off my 5-cost Sisko and made him one with the Brog after completing Wolf 359. Again, I was able to snipe Sisko with an ACE, but Ed limited the death by K&E'ing my Clown Guillotine. We were running out of time and I happened to complete Aid Legendary while Ed's ship was still away from HQ, Ed graciously conceded after the resulting destaff.

Closing Thoughts
The combination of several elements in this deck is just plain wrong. I'm not sure that fixing just one will bring this back down to Earth. Quark should definitely not be as universal as he is, and Aid Legendary is just painful. I don't know that Preposterous Plan is that much of a problem, but giving all affiliations (especially Fed) the ability to double their 5-point gains allows for crazy things like Jaresh and AWC to happen multiple times in a game instead of maybe just once. Here's hoping that the new set will bring some better options to the table.
