James Riseborough (jimborg) Tournament Report - 1E 2014-07-05 - 12:15 PM TNG Federation Royal Oak Massacre Introduction Looked forward to this one, having a little more experience at the game and more confident in dilemma combo's and placement. I was looking forward to testing myself against seasoned players... Round 1 Niall Matthew FL (-100) After passing out the night before and getting what i deserved, it was time for revenge... sadly not! my first mistake was not getting Q the ref into play and allowed Naill to download plenty of personnel on his first turn. Although i placed dead end well I was soon to learn that bonus points don't effect borg! doh! Then what i thought was a wall wasnt and that allowed Naill and easy victory! good game Naill i learned plenty! Round 2 Karaoke_Ken MW (+10) Both myself and Ken where playing decks that Paddy constructed for us, so it was going to be a fun game and it certainly was. my mission draws where bad and i ended up drawing all planets forcing me to split my missions up giving me a chance at a mission steal, which went horribly wrong when i hit Ken's sneaky Garbage scow self seed and defensive measure! giving Ken an easy 45 point lead early on. I managed to complete a 35+10 bonus point mission and even the score. Unluckly for ken he failed on my Edo probe combo and lost 10 points giving me a Lucky 45-35 modified Win! Well played Ken great game :D Round 3 Paddy Tye FL (-100)View opponent's ReportView original Report Another Strong opponent and after Mark was forced to concede his match with (in the words of Lofty) "Smug Paddy" and the fact that i was playing the deck "Smug Paddy" built for me i was up against i BIG time! So the Kazonn Padd smashed my Ship and my Outpost pretty much within the first few turns leaving my deck destroyed i really should have conceded too but meh, he can earn his win! I hoped my dilemma's would slow him down enough to force only a converted win and it almost did! He managed to get the Full win with 1 minute to spare on the clock despite my best efforts to take a dump during the match! xD Sorry Paddy to make you do that, but i really wanted to see how my combo's worked against players other than Lofty, Good Game! Jimbo was playing a Fed solver that I'd built for him - a few turns in and I'd gotten my fleet to his outpost and launched an assault. I then outgunned his last ship and left him effectively shut down. But Jimbo wanted to test out his dilemma combos, so forced me to plough on and switch to solving. I just managed to get the 100-0 win before time expired, but Jimbo's dilemma placement made a real struggle of it! Closing Thoughts Good games, i learned lots and had a great laugh, plenty of Beer, Jaeger and debauchery!
