Introduction |
Actually I didn't plan to writing a report, but there is an achievment when all write right? So, let's see how much I can remember. |
|
Round 1 | | Jon Carter | FW (+65)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
TOS with many NA and Ajur, Boratus, let me think of tragic turn pile, well it wasn't.
Navaar rendered my anthro dilemmas mostly useless. So, Legacy almost on it's own had to work.
Jon solved a mission, but was out of range, so my Surprise Amity stayed in hand.
Then I got a Surprise Amity for solving Kressari but got some bonuspoints too. Jon got a small hint to solve a mission with Navaar.
But the I ran through my other mission(s?). |
Legacy ruined my life
he plowed through dilemmas |

Round 2 | | J | FL (-25)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Acually the third game.
DS9 stop prevention. Historical Research says MAY.
Tongo with many low cost cards doesn't work out. And stopping unstopable is almost the same. Mission one for 40 was solved.
Weyoun went on holding cell. So, making bonus points was a bit tricky.
Soon Kressari finally was solved, 2 Comfort woman for Holding cell had to be sacrifies. 2 rouling councils and the ship made some points.
70-95, so one Tongo the wrong way or just a solved mission for me with a destaffed ship...
The Next Tongo gave me the points :) but nobody read Preposterous Plan and just let the +5 points end the game.

I played Markus last. That was due to difficulty scheduling a game as both mark and Jon were easy to find a time with. This probably helped me a lot, since I had the deck figured out buy then.
I finally got to go second, but then forgot to use Historical Research. So early in this game I was hurting for the plays/draws. My hand was all cost 4 cards and I couldn't get things balanced to save my life. inevitably, I found a Quark and got Tongo going. This time, I only used 5 points for set up (at What Cost, I believe), so I could 2 mission win.
The first mission took me quite few attempts, but by the time I went out to planet, I had a good unstoppable team (and could even double team). That one was complete in one attempt.
At this point: I had 40 points from space, 40 from planet, and 15 from Tongo. Markus had attempted his space quite a few times, but had no score. I felt bad about this and decided to give him his space mission (play no dilemmas) and this almost burned me. I had holding cell in play to stop him from using any Council interrupts for Bonus points but he wisely tossed 3 Comfort Women to blow it up and then used his Tanak'talar (sp?) and Councils to make the mission worth 70! I wasn't planning to give away 70, even if I was on 95. This explains why Markus was not attempting much, as he had been (wisely) setting up to make sure that the mission completion was worth good points.
It also meant that he only needed to solve a cheap planet mission for the win AND he had the range to go try this turn. I did manage to hold him out.
On my turn, I set up for a new mission attempt, just in case, but Tongo'd for the 5 points I needed to win -> he won the Tongo. So I tossed Preposterous Plan for the Epic Win. |

Round 3 | | Mark | FW (+20)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Acually the second game.
Alternate Universe Starfleet, with very many Engineer and Treachery, and quite fast in solving the first mission and +10. Mot showed the first time, and Ezri defected. Kressari was done soon after including some bonus points and off to Deliver Prisoners and got hit by Greater Needs. Mark solved the next mission.
The low range usage let me fly from Deliver Prisoners to TN to Deliver Prisoners and back to TN for repair and some beaming in between. And solving the mission for a total of 95 points. So there were these 2 possibilies to win: Mot + 1 counter(surprise party) for getting Odo to hand and play him the same turn or if not, solve a mission. This turn he didn't show (only drew cards) and dilemmas stopped... And finally the next turn the mission worked out for me.
PS: !WANTED!
Odo

Round 3 - vs Eberlems:
Eberlems went first. My opening hand contained Obrist, and he was my first play, but it didn't seem worth using his Masaka skill. He played cards, I played cards. He didn't have Events when I played Starship Defiant, he didn't kill any of my Events but the way it panned out it was only worth playing one of them. Unexpected Difficulties stayed on the table for most of the game. Markus was playing a Terok Nor Dominion/Cardassian deck with Alpha Quadrant missions.
Markus attempted a mission first. Command Decisions stopped Hugh, Chula The Precipice luckily stopped 3 people. The third dilemma was probably thus unnecessary. Guess Who's Coming To Dinner killed Imat'Korex. Kressari Rendezvous had 3 under.
I attempt next at Evaluate Soliton Wave. Dark Page stopped Travis. What Lies Beneath sent Obrist beneath the draw deck. As everyone else got stopped, Ezri defected, and a Thief was just what Markus needed to feed his Morn.
Kressari got reattempted. I chanced one dilemma. Breaking The Ice stopped the attempt.
I reattempted. Adversarial Trial stopped Travis. Worn-Out Welcome stopped Archer, but there were Transporters and plenty of Treachery left. I even still had the skills to solve. Evaluate Soliton Wave for 30, +10 with the text on the mission for the yellow Defiant, +10 for solving first with Earth (=50). Good start.
Markus reattempted. Moral Choice stopped someone. The First Duty killed Hugh. The ship and 2 Ruling Councils brought the pointage up to 60 (=60).
He then moved on to attempt Deliver Prisoners. Back Room Dealings stopped Gaius Yaltar, Draft Supervisor, and Greater Needs hit. That was neat.
I attempted Evade Samaritan Snare. Depression stopped someone, Legacy did nothing (we were even).
Markus reattempted. Dark Page stopped Odera'Klen, Trelane's Trial stopped Yaltar, The Charismatic Mister Kor sent Hugh to the bottom of the deck. They still managed to solve (+35 =95). No points from the Vanguard of the Occupation, which was repairing elsewhere.
I reattempted. Antedean Assassins stopped Hoshi. The Big Goodbye killed Mirror Trip, who was saved by an ETU. That crew was out of the picture, I attempted with another. Dark Page stopped Travis, Technique Of A Desperate Man hit, the Anthraxpology was spread too thin. Didn't stop me, though, and I could solve (+30 =80).
Eberlems sent folk to attempt Survey New World. Kolaran Raiders stopped Yaltar, Old Differences stopped 2 Jemmies, The Gentleman Doctor McCoy sent Damar skittering to the bottom of the deck.
Being short on Diplomacy, I sent a bunch of people to Control Plague. Yeah, teach that French beach who's boss. Cultural Differences stopped Hoshi. Occupational Hazards was rendered moot by the still-alive Archer, but I didn't sent enough Anthro to pass Quaint Technology. Given the number of Antho dilemmas that had shown up this game, I guess I should have thought a bit more about that.
Markus reattempted. About all I could play was Miner Revolt. I pitched Unexpected Difficulties. Cultural Differences stopped Odera'Klen. With In-Fighting I picked Officer, and there were 4 of these. Tozara'Kesh was randomly selected. This was actually his only Engineer for the second requirements, but he actually had the first batch of skills there too. He solved the mission (+35 =130).
Good game.
Final score: 130 to Eberlems, 80 to me. |

Closing Thoughts |
Sometimes it's good to read the cards again, like the new Rituals, Preposterous Plan, Navaar, Historical Research, Transport Crash Survivors...
And pick the right ship for Christening...
Well and I stacked personnel some for the well known Secret Identity, but I missed the dilemma.
Morn worked ~7 times
Martus worked 1 time
Hugh Bonus never
Parting Shot, Ezri Tigan would have been a nice card in the deck. |
