Double-Double |
Introduction |
Went for the Omega play achievement and figured that I'd try to get it while fulfilling one of my dual-HQ achievements. Unfortunately, the deck is too big for its own good. |

Round 1 | | Josef Lemberger | FW (+50)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Almost every non-personnel card in the deck started appearing in the first few turns in the deck. It allowed me to stop him from playing many events or interrupts but nothing helping my side. Eventually, like a bull in a china shop, I spammed out people and tried to solve my missions, eventually get the full win on the final turn. |
I always like to play against Michael although I didn't manage to win a game against him in my whole STCCG-career. During games with MvB the atmosphere is always relaxed and funny. A time to laugh and of curse a time to curse. Playing Tal the first round and having a look at Michaels hand made me turn pale: this guy hand a lot of event/interupt-destruction. And he shot away my bonus-machinery and events like hell! We both had to take our time - the game unfolded slowly - for both sides. Michael started the first attempt. Because of our last game in april - MvB surprised me with a cheeky 20-personell attempt - I restocked my dilemma-pile with Limited Welcome AND Fractured Time. And as Michael started an attempt wit 14 people - and my Unexpected Difficulties on the table I've been confident to give him a bad surprise. But guess what: First draw and nothing showed up, UD and again nothing! It took me FOUR OVERCOME dilemmas to stop him - what a shame! After a while he started to go for the planet and I managed to solve the space. On the far end of the galaxy I saw some light for me, not God or a graviton wave but a small chance for me. Michael splitted his awayteam in two and started solving with seven or six personnel. A thought - lucky me, I have THREE Timescapes - time is over and if good old Michael is failing, we have a true tie. I don't have to tell you, that I managed to stop the first attempt but could't get a hand on Timescape. Well, neverthless a fantastic game! |

Round 2 | | Julius Melhardt | FL (-1) |
I played like a moron in this game, failing the space mission twice while encountering 0 dilemmas because I forgot to put all of the mission skills present (2 Leadership and 3 Treachery) I managed to solve my planet with thanks from his Keevan but I was hit by Pivotal Destiny but I hadn't gotten my Old Feelings or the missing 5 points from Odo (I had gotten 5 points from Paul Mayweather) He won on his final attempt once he drew back into his Blue Screen of Death on the final turn. |

Round 3 | | Benjamin Liebich | FL (-50) |
Ben's random selections were just insanely good - preventing mission solves despite having plenty of people to complete the mission. The coup de grace was killing both and only Intelligence personnel in play with A Taste of Armageddon. Meanwhile, he was running easy to solve missions (only one I played not running 50 point missions), playing two Field Studies at space (which I couldn't counter as I was lacking counters at the time.) |

Closing Thoughts |
The deck is too big. |
