No dilemmas, no problem |
Introduction |
I wanted to play something fun since I'm told that I need to play things that don't give people a negative play experience so I brought this deck back to life. I modified it to have Malcolm Reed in deck which, after being asked why it wasn't in there to begin with, I had no answer to that question. I wasn't expecting to win. |

Round 1 | | Johannes Klarhauser | FW (+35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I have a dilemma pile that has no skills in it vs. a Reyga deck. Not exactly the best possible matchup... Johannes figured out pretty quick what I was doing but even when I eventually got everyone out, he was out ahead. I attacked him for the first time, getting the space mission solved. I still had to hope that he didn't solve Geological Survey at this point which he somehow didn't have the skills... even though I didn't stop anyone. I attacked the second time and had gotten the crew together for the win. |
After I had beaten Tyler's Ferengi with a triple HQ deck the day before, it was only fitting that I should run into a similar deck while playing Ferengi myself. I knew what was coming, but with no Range boosting cards in my deck, it was only a matter of time until Michael caught me out in the open. From then on, it was a two-turn countdown. I managed to complete two missions, and attempted my last one without the skills (hoping to put some dilemmas under and get an extra turn by playing Uninvited, which would have allowed to fly in reinforcements who actually had the mission skills). Since Michael had played a Dreamer, this meant I faild the attempt without anybody getting stopped, and lost the Uninvited that might have given me one more turn. |

Round 2 | | Jonathan | FW (+40)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
My kingdom for random selection prowess. I actually had a pretty good start to this game but he was attempting a 4-range GQ mission which is fine... if his shields were under the weapons of the Defiant which a Dominion Battleship is not. Since I didn't have the Range to get there with my Kronos One, I could only wait until he came to my quadrant. Once there and once he figured out what I was doing, he did his best to hide the ship where I couldn't touch it. I used the time with Malcolm Reed to place more underneath my missions until I could attack the ship again. Once again, got enough dilemmas underneath my missions to not encounter a dilemma. |
My opponent used a crazy gimmicky deck, with Starfleet, Klingon,a nd Dominion HQs, and Assist Cloaked Ship and Signal For Rescue. He used Malcom Reed, Weapons Expert; Optimism; The Dominion Will Prevail; Dominion Defiant; Ja’Chuq, and Call to Arms to put loads of dilemmas under his missions and get enough points to win. It was a crazy deck. While he spent most of the game setting up, I solved Staged Bombardment and Archanis Dispute. He got ACS. Eventually the score was 60 me to 45 him. It came down to my attempting Iconia Investigation; if I could solve, I would win. I failed. Next turn he did his tricks, and got the FW over me, 100 to 60. Very fun game! |

Round 3 | | Jerad Berhow | FL (-40) |
I knew he was playing Borg and I was also dead-certain what he was going to do which is also why I knew I was going to lose. When you have only seven people in the deck and you're intentionally milling through it with Optimism, it doesn't take much to find that I'm not going to succeed here. I did get my space mission done with the Starfleet bonus which was great. However, in order to use the Defiant, I have to stop the ship there and have it staffed. An Abduction of Odo Founder caused it to be over with no more Odo Founders in the deck. One funny part - After assimiliating Kurn with Assimiliate Resistance, thus triggering the Harvest Drone on my ship, he picks Kurn out of the 5 people there. |
