TOSTOS Academy
Introduction
I had played this in my first Academy tournament... well actually all but two people who were at the tournament were running Academy while they were running 'real' decks. Needless to say, I did not win that day. Plus, I hadn't gotten my win achievement with TOS after 6 previous attempts so let's hope for lucky 7.

Not running TCS due to wanting the downloads from Crom (which I believe that he got on his first turn), he gets out but for a while my dilemma playing is holding him off of his space mission. I get through IAP and Encounter at Farpoint, placing an Insurrection under Risa along with one attempt before he gets through his space and one-solves his planet. I held him off of his last mission before solving Risa for the win. Solving my space mission in one attempt helped.

Also no TCS but he was going for small attempts too. I got out the Horga'hn in this game and used it to solve one of my planets thanks to the unstopping (I believe it was Encounter at Farpoint which also had Insurrection on it.)

Round 3StarfleetDarrell MinottFW (+30)
IIRC, he did have TCS so I had to be honest with two of my missions. Samuels which he got out only in the late portion of the game so you can imagine the bad shuffle that he got. I'm pelting him with cards that would just barely prevent him from solving (Coolant Leak followed by a bouncing Healing Hand, etc.) so that he would have five people and not enough stats to solve his space. I solve space before he does (despite Insurrection) and worked on Encounter at Farpoint (which also had Insurrection on it.) I had loss Kes in space thanks to Occupational Hazards and I only have one Inad out so I'm fake-attempting to get more under. I end up leaving my six at Encounter (Insurrection was also on this mission too) while I'm working through Risa. H eventually solves Derelict and makes it through his planet mission in one shot. I manage to hold him off at his second planet mission long enough to auto-solve my two planet missions (moving the second Insurrection over to Risa for the five people to solve with five under.)

Closing Thoughts
I don't know how much TCS would've mattered in my games but I know that Kirk's ability didn't come into play all that much unfortunately. Still, high integrity officer is handy for Risa.
