Holograms |
Introduction |
Taking over for tjark in this tournament I decided to go achievement crazy - Silver Age dilemmas, Highlander, Diverse Unity (adding Fed Holograms that I forgot couldn't be played to my HQ) along with playing just Holograms. I was surprised that it managed to win. |

Round 2 | | Matt Kirk | FW (+50) |
This was the last game for me in the tournament. It was at this point that I realized that Revised Chakotay couldn't actually play to Maquis HQ (didn't think about him not having Treachery) or Revised Seven. Instead, they went on top of the Hunting Holoprogram for the +1. An early WNOHGB slowed me down and this was followed up at the next attempt with Fractured Time (lost the Doctor and Revised Janeway.) but got enough under for a mission walkthrough next time. Key moment in this attempt was Secret Identity taking out my Weiss and my replacing him with Anastasia (aka Russian Kira) Not wanting to attempt the mission again with this many people, I flew to Locate Fuel Source and got past Swashbuckler/Rogue Borg with Anastasia's Intelligence. Meanwhile I stopped his attempts at Wormhole Negotiations with Hard Time/Dal'rok (despite him passing the Dal'rok as he didn't have Astrometrics in play yet and me getting greedy to kill someone), Caretaker's Guest (to take away mission skill from attempt and being unable to replace them), Shocking Betrayal (another use for a Chakotay) before failing badly with Intimidation (Picked Lore, then Sisko... neither who could be stopped.) At this point I had two missions solved (went back to Liberate with five people) and flew them over to Investigate Alleged Murder with seven. Double-cheating around Psycho-kinetic Attack to give Revised Kim Honor and Telepathy, then using Kim to gain Transporters from Kejal in my hand to solve the mission for the win. |

I attempted first, getting about 7 people to Rare Phenom, where (after a single stop) Chula Precipice took me out cuz I have no Honor. Later attempts got stopped by Moral Choice, and Outclassed. Meanwhile, TNS breezed through my dilemmas, solving one and then another mission on the first attempt (though one at least needed Kim's ability and Cluttering to pass). I got a second ship so I could switch out my crew, and attempted with just 4 (and 4 under) to solve -- using two copies of Standard Punishment to have enough stats. Next turn, TNS solved his third mission for game. |
