2 Legit 2 Win |
Introduction |
I decided to go with Klingons and Legit Leader along with Scientific Diplomacy. |
|
Round 1 | | Matthew McClain | FW (+70) |
He went with DS9 Cardassians with New Arrivals and Central Command. I get Gowron killed by Hunter Probe (didn't have a whole lot of certain skills I found out) but getting him stuck multiple times with the space Arsenal dilemma worked well. I managed to get through my two missions before Nexus to victory (Kahless was the man.) |
|
|
Round 2 | | Jeremy Norris | FW (+70) |
Jeremy was playing Illegit Leader with Mercenary Raiders. Stopped him at his space mission for 2 turns with Friendly Fire, then 5 turns with funny languages. Nexus made it hard for him to get to his planet (plus, he didn't have Diplomacy in play making Blended a wall.) Made it through my two missions and Nexus for the win. |

|
Round 3 | | Mikey Camp JR | FW (+60) |
He was playing TNG Finest Crew with Scientific Diplomacy. He solved Metaphasic but got stuck at Earth with first Palukoo, then Lethean, then Founder Secret. Meanwhile I managed to get through my planet mission where the Nexus was, then solved Sleeper Ship with Worf's woman before taking Picard and Tolian into the Nexus on Earth for the win. |

Round 4 | | Scott Baughman | FL (-20)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
He was playing Scientific with TNG Ferengi. Turning points in the game - Me not attempting Host Metaphasic (thought that Dead End was there since he placed dilemmas sparsely there), getting Kahless killed (apparently my deck has only three sources of Leadership - Kahless, Gowron and Sunad (who was located on the bottom of the deck.) Even so, if I had gone first, I would've made it through my missions for the win so there's that. |
It's Scott versus the Ninja Scott for all the marbles! This was an intense game with both of us getting most of our missions in a line next to our own missions. Michael is playing Legitimate Leader and gets out Kahless and of course Gowron early. I fear for the effectiveness of my Dignitaries and Witnesses but in the end that stopped him on his last turn. I got my Data and Armor out on my turn ONE as we both seeded Host Metaphasic. I had to solve four missions to win because I was stymied by all the dilemmas under Host Metaphasic. I solved three planets and Resupply Marauder 2 to win. On my final turn, I had one dilemma left under Revenge Plot. I decided to redshirt the dilemma for the first time in years! It was the right play, I beamed down one copy of Baht and he was stopped by a Palukoo! I then sent the rest of the team and solved for the win and the National Championship! |

Closing Thoughts |
Apparently how the 1E deckbuilder and the 2E deckbuilder count skills are vastly different. |
