Introduction |
While I'm not the first person to win this achievement, I thought that I would give it a try (or rather that was what the random selection tool in the chatroom said that I was going to play.) I decided to go with something different for this one in that I wanted to have more dilemma stalling with Uninvited rather than the usual Covenants/Shady Resources. Just keeping it a simple solver with my people doing the special stuff instead of using anything. |

Round 1 | | J | FW (+30)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Opening hand - Only one Bajoran, Xhosa and five NA's... just peachy. He got out in an attempt before I could, getting him with an all-stop. Next attempt, I pull Dreamer along with another wall and Weak will Perish, taking out Weyoun in the process. With four cards in his hand, he spends all three Ruling Councils and still didn't solve, stopping him with just one under each time. Meanwhile I eventually get out and, thanks to Lore not being stopped for Personal Duty, solve in one try. I didn't have the right people yet for four person solves of my other two missions and couldn't seem to draw any of the cheap people. Still, it was enough to get the win here despite all of his Central Commands and Ruling Councils. |
Michael had a pure achievement deck (going for one of the original hidden achievements) and I think I could have done much better against him. As it was, I feel that this was fairly close. though Mike assures me that Uninvited could have held out my last mission solve for a couple more turns.
The big mistake I made, was almost wholly focusing on my offensive strategy during my turn. When Mike would go an attempt, I would realize that i failed to leave a ship in hand for Tactical Disadvantage or failed to leave decent strength for the Know Thy Enemy. Also, Mike made good calls with his copies of Self-Replicating Roadblock that were always played the turn he was attempting the mission and always named something I drew. But if I had held him at his space mission at all (he got a solve on the first go) then I might have won this. Both planets had much better results in holding him out. |

Round 2 | | Richard DeLashmit | FW (+65) |
He got the first mission after cheating through a Breaking the Ice (forgot that he had two Geology as I forgot that original Kira Founder had Geology) with Explicit Orders from Keevan. Meanwhile I was able to draw into a bunch of cheaper people eventually and a second ship to deal with his Crippling Strikes. Didn't see a Timescape which helped getting through the first two missions in one turn, followed by a crucial use of Gorgan throwing away a Xhosa to give Basso and my people a four person solve at Rigel for the win. |

Round 3 | | Amber Van Breemen | FW (+100) |
My dilemmas did mean things in this game... Infinite Diversity one stop, back to back Rogue Borg Ambushes, Uninvited for a Polywater to her four person solve, natural play of Outmatched to her team of nine followed by an Uninvited of a second Outmatched to her team of six. Meanwhile she held off my space solve for five turns between Where No One Has Gone Before and other dilemmas so while my team of four was trying to solve there, I had a second group go over and work on Security Briefing. By the time I solved Acquire Illicit Explosives, I had enough under Security Briefing to solve on the same turn with those four thanks to Xhosa/Basso combination. After that, I smashed through Rigel for the win. |
