ToS Nationals ver. Sisko |
Introduction |
I was lazy and decided to run the same deck I ran at Nationals up in MN last month, worked out just as well it seems. But now I kinda feel like a jerk, so it might be time to shelve them for a while, at least until regionals roll around. |

Round 1 | | Edward Pigman | FW (+100) |
Ed was playing Mike Moskops Holodeck. It took him a bit to get out an Olarra, but got stonewalled by a few dilemma plays that settled this game early on. Overall he couldn't seem to get it clicking, while my cheapo peeps were off doing there thing. |

Round 2 | | Jon Carter | FW (+60)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Jon was playing in his first 2E tournament with a zippy cadet deck. I knew this would be problematic, but once I got rid of Ezri Tigan with a Chula, I was able to peg him with a few ID's as well as various other Fed and Weenie obliteration dilemmas. It worked out fairly well and was able to roll to another FW. Though it was a very good try for his first tourney, hope to see him back. |
Casey's feds got a fast start and killed my enterprise J which kept me from completing Orbital maneuvers twice. I keep trying to push through missions, but a few blunders (wasting a kirk) and miscaluclations with skills and atributes keeps me from solving what I need. This is compouded by the fact that Casey was very adept at using the fewest dilemas to stop my guys |

Round 3 | | Al Schaefer | FW (+35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Al was bustin out a multi faceted DS9 earth deck with some Under Seige and Jaresh Inyo. He was ship buried which probably led to my ultimate victory. But not before we had a go of it and ended up in a very close game. Aside from a botched play on his first mission, we brutally stopped each other at every turn with dilemmas. Sisko was being a pain with blocking a few dilemmas, but the game came down to the end with picking off Geology with an Infinite Diversity to seal the game. |
Casey was playing the TOS deck he used to great success at the MN Nationals recently. I wasn't too concerned with his draw deck, but he plays his dilemma pile like a fiddle and that's really what matters. I was unfortunately ship screwed for the first half of the game. I was afraid this game would end quickly because 15% my dilemma pile relies on me having high cost cards (ships) in my hand. Fortunately for me, Casey went planet first and I was able to stall him with classic 1-card stops like Necessary Execution, In Development, Moral Choice, and Rogue Borg Ambush. I even got a Dreamer to go off, giving me a chance to stay in the game. By the time I finally drew a ship Casey was still working on his first planet mission. I attempted my space mission with Kirk there and was able to complete on my first try when Casey made a slight mistake. Casey quickly recovered, however, stopping me easily at my planet mission and getting a good start on his space mission. I still didn't have multiple ships in hand for Gorgan/TD abuse, and my dilemma pile was running out of tricks fast. This epic game went into overtime and Casey was able to secure the win, stopping me with his signature Infinite Diversity + Random Skill that I didn't have. I was really surprised that I had such a tough time securing a ship in this game, but I was also very happy to see my dilemma pile hold on long enough to give me a chance to win. My biggest mistake was using Sisko to name An Issue of Trust at every attempt when I know that Casey doesn't own a copy of the card! |
