When on Remus |
Introduction |
I'm running out of "play" achievements that actually look fun to play. Like, I'm not super opposed to playing Bajoran Resistance, but to play them in the specific way the achievement wants me to in unappealing. So, instead, I just decided to play a deck that I've wanted to build since the Reman Scimitar came out. I hadn't played it yet because it didn't naturally pair with any achievements, but I'm glad I did. |

Round 1 | | Matthew Zinno | FW (+70)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I had a rough time getting a large volume of kills in this game, but fortunately I killed the right people off. Matt had dilemmas under both of his remaining missions, but no longer had the skills in play for either one at the end of the game. This situation was fortunate, because I had a relatively slow start. I think I had to pay something like 5 cost for the Scimitar. He didn't have much weenie hate though, and my personnel were light on the skills that Matt's piles like to punish. |
Dereliction of Duty takes away Keywords too? Seriously? That made all my people not Thieves, so not boosted by Soft Sell. Anyway, I was glad to be facing Lucas first b/c he had told me to build a Thief deck since the time I won the Fortune as a prize. I used a Pooling Resources early on to get Display of Wealth, but he had a Deep Hatred for it, which slowed down the DOW plot. I ended up doing pretty well with re-attempts because he comsumed a lot of dilemmas, trying (but failing) to hit All-Consuming Evil.

Round 2 | | mattachew9 | FW (+60) |
This was Matt's second tournament game, and he did well, especially for a complicated deck like androids. I was sure that I'd stop his first attempt at Homing Beacon with Necessary Execution, ACE, and Entangled, since android decks tend to be Transporters-light, but he had 4 of every skill and walked through it in one attempt. In the meantime, however, I had the most explosive start of the tournament with a 0-cost Scimitar and crew out and attempting on turn 2, so I didn't give him much room to catch up. |

Round 3 | | Chris Morse | FW (+70) |
I also outsped Chris; a couple times, he miscalculated how many I'd need to solve, and I got a surprise mission. In the meantime, he had a lot of trouble getting a mission skill (maybe Navigation?), and my pile was unforgiving as a result. I think Donatra got a big dilemma cancellation in this game, but I'm not sure; I used this deck to test some new cards the next day, and it might have happened in that game instead. |
