Introduction |
I've wanted to build an Engage Cloak deck for a long time, with Kaleb Sector, Silent Strike and either the Scimitar or the Kla'diyus. Romulans are better at cunning, so I opted for them. Making a deck where my cards jump out at my opponent's cards from the shadows seemed appropriately thematic for a tournament that's adjacent to Halloween. |

Round 1 | | Bye | BY (0) |
Bob and Cayenne and I chatted during their game; I'm pretty much responsible for making their game go to time. What a great TD :) |

Round 2 | | Chris O'Connell | FW (+60) |
I killed all but three at Chris' first space mission, then swooped in with the Scimitar to pick off Lore. Being able to complete a mission afterwards thanks to the Scimitar's text is pretty sweet. Captain on the Bridge allowed Chris to restaff, but Dereliction cramped his two mission win plans. I was able to kill a bunch more at his first planet, and squeaked though my last mission with exactly 31 cunning. |

Round 3 | | Cayenne Geis | FL (-90) |
I got the total party kill at ALC (even without Parasites or Execution), but that just meant she could play Guinan/Inyo again (this time with two Preposterouses) and instantly rebuild. Then I whiffed at space, so I never really had a chance to spook her there. I did attack her once at her last planet - it was an empty ship though, so it was more of a hollow show of force.
In the meantime, I attempted one mission, once. |

Closing Thoughts |
Never got to use Silent Strike - it represents a lot of kills at interrupt cost/speed, but the Scimitar's ability to unstop and then attempt Kaleb again means that I'm almost always going to use its ability when I have the choice. So, with Silent Strike only there for the D'deridexes, I never used it.
Ranking the elements of the deck:
Silent Strike: 1/5
Scimitar: 4/5 (nice ability, but pricey and 5 staffing is hard to swallow for an attacking ship)
Engage Cloak: 2/5 (the best part about this card are all the other cards that reference it by name)
Strategic Tug of War: 4/5 (great at getting people to go somewhere else, I'd use a third if I played this deck again)
Kaleb Sector: 5/5 (love this card, great with the Scimitar, great against WNOHGB, just great)
