Round 1 | | Pope | FW (+20) |
I feel bad about this round. This was my first ever time playing DQ, and neither of us remembered that I needed 140 points until later the next day, after the scores has been reported. Worse, on Pope's next turn, all he needed to do was dodge a 2/23 chance of me hitting an AU icon personnel with Kobayashi and then another 1/6 chance of me hitting the 2 AU requirements of QI, and he'd have hit 100 points. Bluh. As for the game itself, we both seemed to have a good time, and I though Pope's AQ Hirogen with Holograms deck was quite clever. Taking Charge is a card I'm definitely interested in playing around with now. |

Round 2 | | J | FW (+100) |
J came over to attack me, but he had a bad draw and a slow start, and I had plenty of time to build up. I had some trouble getting leaders into play, but was eventually able to clear out his invasion of the DQ - and then blow him up again when he got Caretaker's Waved. Computer Crash made it so I couldn't get the Tsunkatse Ship for the biggest battle, but that meant I could get Hajur for some battle-leading later on. Interestingly, J also was using Scout Encounter to get the Vidiian Scouts to supplement his battle, which could have been trouble except that, being Vidiian myself, I was not a valid battle target for them. |

Round 3 | | Damon Sommer | FL (+67)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
The strength-reduction theme of KNomad's dilemmas gave my low strength Vidiians fits, especially since I never got a Harvester or Lower Decks in play. I eventually slammed into a boosted Barclays with a huge crew, and Computer Crash this time stopped me from pulling in The Pendari Champion for a second Security (Med and Sci were of course both fine). While rebuilding I then got hit by Stop First Contact, which blew up the Equinox AND Seven (my Blue drone for Resuscitation), but I still managed to get enough people back in play to solve a mission and get on the board at least. |
Lucas brought a Vidiian heavy, all DQ deck. His early mission attempts were all thwarted, with my IP Creatures applying good pressure. I start scouting at Earth, Lucas starts another mission. "God" destroys my Cube, and a Barclay's wipes out his crew of seventeen. He never really recovered from that, whilst my FF:Recovered prevented a real disaster. I proceed to disrupt the timeline, and Lucas scrapes up enough crew to solve his last attempted mission, pulling ahead in points 42 - 40.
Quantum Incursions delay my Establish Gateway a fair bit, and Lucas takes another beating during his next mission attempt. I complete the Gateway and play Resistance Is Futile for the win before he can complete a second mission. |
