StarfleetMakeouts
Introduction
I'd handed this deck out several times, and it usually does pretty well. When Steve C beat Timmons with it at the Jersey Reunion, that's when I decided to play it at worlds.

The deck looks a bit different than a lot of other Neu Starfleet builds because I've dropped a lot of the win-more stuff. For example, an extra counter per turn just for playing a zero-cost event on a solved mission is very powerful, but doesn't help until after you've solved a mission. I'd rather play cards that will help me solve that mission (like CL Trip), and race to low-cost Accumulated Knowledges.

Round 1RomulanDaniel MattesonFL (-40)
My pile was originally designed to hunt 5 Space Voyager, but was repurposed to fight Jaeger Bombs. Unfortunately, it kinda sucks against Romulans - Adopted Authority and Becalmed x3 in a 30 card pile meant that Dan one-shot solved his first two missions. Fortunately for me, he took a very conservative approach to the early game, which kept me in the game longer than I deserved to be in it.

Round 2Dan WebsterFW (+95)
The dilemmas that faltered against Romulans were *very* effective against Dan's two mission win TNG deck, to the point where it felt a bit bad to stop him so effectively each time. I should probably try to build dilemma piles with match-ups that are a little less polarized.

Round 3VoyagerAmber Van BreemenFW (+80)
I feared Amber's 8-cost dilemmas, but what hurt me here the most was being sent on a trip by Alternatives to Fighting. I was lucky that Amber used a Grav Trap to nuke an Unexpected Difficulties, and not A Sight for Sore Eyes - doing so at that time would have locked me into a 4th mission (like Dan did to me in game 1) since I had used AWC the turn I solved my first mission (and hadn't drawn a Lustful Distraction to shuffle it out of play yet).

Round 4VoyagerTed ReebelFW (+100)View opponent's Report
Ted had a terrible early game. Not enough events to fuel his dilemmas, and his first Unfair Comparison whiffed against a pile with a very low average cost. Moral Choice into WNOHGB on his first attempt put the nail in the coffin. Equinox definitely has the power to make me sweat now though, which is cool.

Round 5BajoranBenjamin LiebichFW (+60)
T'Pol definitely got a workout against Benjamin's Chula pile. My attempting crews stayed small for most of the game because I had to spend so many counters just on drawing cards that I could discard to fuel her. One nice thing about Chula piles is that Accumulated Knowledge activates sooner, but it is generally less effective overall.

Round 6FerengiJohn CorbettFW (+40)
Ferengi are just as bad a match-up for my pile as Romulans are, but at least they have a few more 7+ attribute personnel. John took a while to get rolling, but once he was he one-shot-solved his first two missions. By then though, Jupiter was already solved and my Accumulated Knowledges were active, and I became just as rough on his pile as he was on mine. Very close match.

Closing Thoughts
That was fun! We should do this more often.
