Introduction I had the Promo foily defiant x3 so I decided I needed to use it in a tournament. Everyone that came played great games and it was honestly just a tough field even if it wasn't a big one. A laid back well humored attitude was a great contrast to the nailbiting intense games everyone seemed to have. But shiny Defiant had some fun flying around the delta quadrant. Round 1 John McDonald FW (+100) John freaked me out a little. Almost killing some guys and getting some damage cards on me. He stalled out for a couple turns though and I took the win. He's growing a lot as a player and I think he'll do well enough to really make wins very hard quite soon. Round 2 RJ Smith MW (+40) RJ terrified me as soon as he put down Romulus. And the second my defiant crew hit it's first mission with tragic turn and kill dilemmas things went very, very wrong. He killed my Jadzia, Khan, Lore and Thomas Riker with my first attempt. Stalling me out a couple turns desperatly trying to repair my ship's staff. Then in 2 different attempts he played secret identity sending my other 2 Jadzia's to the discard pile. I had 2 missions won but with the pheonix he played with his Commandered Prototype I needed an extra 10 points to win and only Jadzia could get me there. But as he killed Jadzia it was also the timed end of the round and he had one last turn to try and catch up. He made a valiant attempt at one last mission attempt. If it already hadn't been time he would have won that game. RJ was an awesome opponent and played a great game. Round 3 John Kalmen FL (-30) I knew at some point it would happen but I played John. He handily beat me around but my Defiant crew dosn't give up without a fight. Killing Locutus and Borg Queen. I was 1-2 turns from finishing my last mission when he squeaked out the win on me. Really bad dilemma combo draws didn't help the situation either. Couple that with the fact he had some good event discard taking out my captain on the brige which stalled me four turns and my dilemmas not getting cheaper really hurt and easily cost me the game. Round 4 Seraph117 FW (+95) Francis, like John is my other Star Trek Nemesis. And His Terok Nor got going quick. But so did my Defiant crew. Then the epic happened. In a vicious away dilemma kill streak I took out his Odo, Founder leader, Dukat and a couple redshirt Jem'Hadar's making his ship stranded in space. Right after he discarded his other ones. He managed to get a ship back on top of his deck from the discard but not in time to make a difference. I pulled out the missions for the win with captains log holding off his random selections.
