Closing Thoughts
Overall I really like this format. It has potential, and in my opinion should be developed as an alternative to IDIC drafts. Pros: The exclusivity of factions prevents meta gaming to a degree, though everyone seemed to go after the meta factions first (myself included). This also diversifies the card pool so that you're never entirely sure what to face. My dilemma pile was pretty awesome for being random, and I felt like it was my biggest strength. Cons: If developed as a format, I think each faction needs a dedicated 18 cards or so (similar to IDIC) that represent the flavor of the faction. For example, as Starfleet I was a little sad that my only real named person was Trip. I think a big part of this "draft" for me was the flavor aspect, and I think adding more of the big names (possibly in their weaker personas) would help with that. I think this should extend to the missions as well. Suggestion: I am a Equinox whore. I think adding in the Voyager and the Equinox as factions is doable, especially if flavor ships are gonna be fixed (as they appeared to be). With all that said though, if this event was to be offered again with no changes, I would still play, as this format is fun.
