Introduction
My goal in this tournament was to earn some new achievements and try to put the new printable versions of Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy to good use.

Round 1KlingonMike Camp SrFL (+46)
I made Mike's 1E deck to focus on the printable Klingons that are playable for free at the Great Hall and the newly virtual version of Council of Warriors. Mike loves playing Klingons and loves battle so I figured this deck would be a match made in heaven. He got started well with plenty of free plays but I was also able to get lots of free plays thanks to Deep Space Station K-7 and Sherman's Peak. After Mike solved two Bat'leth Tournament missions quickly and got Council of Warriors in his point area, I was finally up at the 'present' version of the spaceline thanks to a Temporal Vortex. I solved Agricultural Assessment and Investigate Anomaly easily enough but then he had Klingon ships after me. I survived two space battles by making sure I repaired the Enterprise and thanks to Captain's Log and some decent tactics. I beamed down and tried to solve Medical Emergency for the win. A Crowded Bar stopped me and Mike beamed down some Klingons and Bat'leths on his turn to kill two personnel for the final 11 points he needed to win the game. Kirk's never trusted Klingons and he never will!

Round 2nouva_dragonFW (-65)
Phil had not played much 1E before, and I made a Romulan deck for him the night before the tournament. It had no free plays but plenty of stall tactics with lots of copies of Ship Seizure and Loss of Orbital Stability. My dilemmas were the star of the show here with Phil getting out to attempt missions first thanks to Defend Assign Mission Specialists and Assign Support Personnel but Denevan Neural Parasites and Crowded Bar stalled him long enough for me to get Spock, Kirk and McCoy going on the Enterprise.

Round 3Steven SuitsMW (-30)
Steven and I have played Star Trek cards together since 1995. He had Comm. Decker's Ferengi Deck and had a load of fun using the various download cards like the Writ of Accountability and Defend Homeworld to get good personnel out early. I got the Big Three on the Enterprise thanks to free plays at K-7 and card draws with Where No Man Has Gone Before and the Mirror quadrant. I was doing well until I lost five points to one of Steven's Dilemmas. He needed to solve one more mission for 35 points in Space and had his eye on Gunrunning. I had solved three missions but thanks to my point loss I had to solve one more. I headed to Fever Emergency and as the final dilemma encountered Restricted Area. I had 14 personnel in the Away Team so Steven got to capture three personnel at random. Guess which three he randomly picked? Kirk, Spock and McCoy!! Time ran out and I only had 95 points for the Modified Win.
