RomulanGreenback Dollar (Legacy)
Introduction
Rather than building an entirely new deck, I decided to run one of my more successful decks. The weak point of Greenback Dollar has always been the dilemma pile, and I wanted to try something new. Legacy seemed like a good idea, because I figured there may be some anti-non-skill dilemma cards floating around.

Round 1KlingonMichael ParrishFW (+100)
Michael's Klingon deck looked a lot like one I ran a couple weeks ago, complete with a Frozen by Fear/Flare of Rage dilemma pile. At one of my early space mission attempts, he made an error and threw the planet Flare of Rage instead of the space Frozen by Fear. In addition to letting me complete the mission, doing so allowed me to recheck the requirements on Flare of Rage before I went to a planet mission. Later in the game I made sure to bring those requirements, and got past another Flare of Rage as a result. Meanwhile, Parrish's Klingons fell prey to Gomtuu, and since he only had one ship for much of the game, the damage slowed him down considerably.

Round 2TNGNic BrautigamFW (+25)
Nic came into the tournament three points ahead of me in the rankings, so I wanted to prove I could win. I had accidentally included Transport Crash Survivors instead of Starbase 718 (I picked up missions from an older version of the deck), but I think the mistake helped me in this game. Nic ran TNG Integrity, and I feel certain he could complete his missions with three or for personnel. I got incredibly lucky on one of his attempts, when The Weak Will Perish caused him to use Emergency Transport Unit, which caused Montgomery Scott, Relic to NOT be equipped with an equipment. The following Ingenious Jury-Rig stopped the Relic, but his old friend James T. Kirk, Living Legend told "God" he didn't care about the Greater Needs. Fortunately, his dilemmas were only slightly more effective than mine, and with my cheap personnel I started making multiple mission attempts first, allowing me to get past the finish line first in a very fast race.

Round 3RelativityAdamBrautigamFL (-35)
Somebody turned on the Benny Hill music for this game! I got off to a roaring start. Ptol showed me two copies of the Dalrok, An Issue of Trust and a space dilemma. Taking full advantage of that knowledge, I went to Supervise Dilithium Mine with The Viceroy, no other Treachery or Honor, and 20 cost worth of personnel (including Ptol and Data). The expected combo of AIoT and the Dalrok did absolutely nothing, and I had my first mission before Adam had his first attempt! I realized I did not have Navigation, but I figured I could get Adam to throw me some dilemmas at Provoke Interstellar Incident. Despite whiffing on Unfair Comparison, Adam managed to kill The Viceroy, leaving me with no Leadership. On Adam's subsequent turn, I threw Gomtuu Shock Wave, having counted his 1 Diplomacy. I immediately realized I made an error, having forgotten about Security Drills. Adam ALSO forgot about Security Drills, and started making plans for B'Elanna Torres to come in and fix the ship. On my turn, I paid full price for a Tacking Into the Wind to destroy Security Drills, causing Adam to groan at his mistake. A couple turns later, I whiffed on Legacy, as both of us revealed three skill dilemmas (his including two Personal Duties). I struggled to pick up the needed skills, but eventually got a second Leadership and completed Provoke Interstellar Incident when Adam whiffed on yet another Unfair Comparison. A timely The Clown: Go Away made my final mission even less appealing, as with only one Leadership and one Treachery (on different personnel at this point), I could easily fail the mission before Adam even drew dilemmas! Adam finally completed Avert Danger to put an end to the comedy of errors.

Round 4StarfleetScott BaughmanFL (-65)View opponent's Report
I suspected Scott would bring Papa Archer, but it did not make me any happier to face the deck. The Weak Will Perish managed to actually kill three personnel, including Phlox and Jeremy Lucas. Legacy stopped Scott three turns in a row. The rest of my dilemma pile sat and cried as D'Vela dismantled it. I made a boneheaded mistake late in the game, putting together the perfect crew to complete Provoke Interstellar Incident without having to face a dilemma, since I knew what was on top with Legacy. Except the crew had no Navigation. Oops. On the bright side, it only made a difference in differential, because I was too far behind to catch up at that point.

Round 5BajoranMichael SchwartzFW (+50)
The Schwartz was with the Bajorans! Using the new headquarters, Michael played Orb of Time and Stone of Gol early. I figured I would just hold on to Legacy until the critical moment to avoid the Orb, but I knew I would have to face a slaughterhouse at some point if Varon-T Disruptor and assault events made an appearance. I bought some time with two copies of Rogue Borg Ambush before Michael could draw into the Varon-T or Sword of Kahless (which never appeared - I'm not sure he had it). I also gave him an extra dilemma when I assumed his Integrity-heavy Bajorans would not pass Occupational Hazards, only to remember a moment too late he had played Kasidy Yates and Yelgrun. Normally I like to hurry up and finish my space mission quickly, but in this game I took my time to build up before heading off to planets. My patience was rewarded, as I destroyed his only Just Like Old Times and put enough personnel on Supervise Dilithium Mine to survive three combats and seven kills on the following turn. After the bloodbath, I abandoned Supervise Dilithium Mine (now bearing a The Clown: Go Away) and instead attempted (and completed) Deliver Prisoners. Michael went to attempt Investigate Maquis Activity, and despite the fact that it would not give him the win I felt it was time to use Legacy. I drew all three of them, so I figured it would probably hit. He revealed two space dilemmas and another copy of The Clown: Go Away, which stopped his personnel and gave me the opportunity to complete Supervise Dilithium Mine without fearing any dilemmas.

Closing Thoughts
I was hoping for better than 3-2, but I at least ended up on the top end of the results. I had a great time at this huge event, and look forward to playing in Atlanta again in the future.
