BorgAnother One Bites the Dust
Introduction
I held a special tournament event, on a Saturday, specifically to bring in two new players. Jordan Smith wanted to introduce two of his brothers to Second Edition, but they needed a Saturday event to make it happen -> so we did.

Round 1Justin SmithMW (+35)

I got to play one of the twins in Round 1, hopefully that was a good experience for him. He was playing a TNG straight forward solver. He got out the Future Enterprise (Flagship-D) with just 6 or 7 persons on board and my kill pile destaffed it, then I spent quite a few turns trying to get the cards I needed to come assimilate a few people, and once that happened, we were off and running. Still! The awesome power of a Chula attrition pile meant that even my Borg cheating tricks could not get it done before time.

The only unfortunate bit was that it took Justin a long time to find a new ship and get out attempting again. He found a dude that could download a ship when played, but he only got universal ships and all the ships in the deck were unique. Then he kept drawing the one he already had. But once he got back out, he did solve a mission and make a big dent in the next.

Round 2RelativityJustin FordFL (-55)

Justin was playing his well honed Relativity deck. The first big mistake I made in this game was letting him solve his first space mission on the first go. This was because I thought my dilemmas would kill more than enough to lock out the attributes and I was trying to avoid the best skills, as they would make excellent drones. One his second mission, I cleaned house and then started assimilating everyone he played. Justin spent a few turns with just 1-2 guys in play before he could solve the second mission, but when he did, he nuked my Endangered so I couldn't kill again. This meant he just had to get slaughtered once more at the third mission and then hope I didn't get a new Endangered. As it was, I drew it one turn to late (during orders phase). We played out my next turn after he won and found out that I could have gotten a full win with just one more...

Round 3Austin SmithMW (+20)

Austin had a Cadet deck, which is horrible news for me. Most Cadets don't have any skills until they are facing dilemmas, and are therefore much harder to make into drones. Still, this game went a lot like the one vs. the first brother. Justin got out and attempted Jupiter with the Valiant, got slaughtered and destaffed, and then spent a bunch of turns trying to rebuild while I tried to find all the cards necessary to assimilate. That worked, eventually, and I started working on my missions.

Still, this could have very easily have been Austin's game. He lost a lot of lives to the second space mission, but did build up enough more cheap weanies to solve it, only he was missing Navigation out of the mission requirements (note: I did also still have my Endangered. Since it would be his last turn, he went to planet for the slaughter. I had one more turn, and had to either draw into a One with the Borg or solve my second mission to be ahead in points. I didn't get that draw, but did pull one Knowledge and Experience, so when Austin said he was just giving me one dilemma, I knew the game was won.

Closing Thoughts
Not sure if this deck will ever be truly competitive, but I do enjoy playing it and I'm hoping that one of my opponent's will pick it up and run with it.
