RomulanThe Romulan Underground
Introduction

I think this could be a very straight forward Tournament Report. For the deck, i really, really wanted to use Armagosa Observatory and Remus. So I built a Romulan Underground (needed the achievement)around those two only to find that The Underground Achievement cannot use any non-Romulan facilities.

I do wish I had kept Armagosa, as it would have been clutch in a few games.

Round 1Mr.SloanFW (+90)
This was a very close game. Christian saw my stealable missions and was all but salivating over the chance. HQ: Defensive Measures protected me for a bit, but I had forgotten to get the second copy with Defend Homeworld, so I need to win 3 turns after he tried to steal my mission and I just barely pulled it off by discarding the right Scientist to set up the Scientific Diplomacy Bonus. This was clutch as Christian had used Khan! on my mission specialist points and I was this close to finishing the game at 99 points.

Round 2FederationPopeFW (+15)

Like Christian, Prince was enticed by my stealable missions. this time I did manage to hold out for 6 turns with HQ: Defensive measures and Prince still almost won. I think what went in my favor is that he was set on waiting out the HQ:DM and only went for his own missions once he found out I had a second, and still I won by a turn. So, had he gone for his missions earlier it might not have gone so well for me.

Prince was able to eat up the 6 HQ:DM turns by playing a cool interaction build.

Round 3CardassianJordan SmithFL (-15)View opponent's Report

Like the last two games, Jordan was most impressed by my stealable missions. However, he had Espionage: Cardassian on Federation. So he could actually steal them and my two copies of HQ: Defensive Measures had to sit this out. That combined with a very interactive build (which would kill anybody left on a planet) and bad draws (no handshake for many early turns) meant that this was a fairly easy win for Jordan.
