Mark (soggy_amphibian) Tournament Report - 1E Modern - Online Event 2011-06-16 - 12:00 AM KCA deck Introduction Round 1 Danny Nuttall FL (-100) First game: vs nuttersuclan His Romulans played pretty fast. With the Drone Control room, I expected Raptor One to show up to give him some draws, but I didn't see Remote Inerference. Ungracious Hosts worked, I discarded my entire hand (5 cards) to capture Karina. I didn't remember to flip Fajo's Gallery. After he spotted Alice (who might have captured Nijil or possibly Tomalak), Daniels downloaded Out Of Time so he could wait for another computer Skill to show up. Scout Encounter/Extradition didn't hit, because it was at a planet mission, and the Away Team had been dropped off as the ship was going past, so there was no ship in orbit to capture someone from... So two missions with a Mission Specialist gave nuttersuclan 75 points. I attempted a mission with Javek Len, Narik and Aramax, and they ran into the 2e dilemma Forsaken. They all got stopped, but there was uncertainty whether the dilemma was too be discarded or was to go back under. The Mad Vulcan, the TD, was asked about this, and he wasn't sure, but thought it might go under. Under it went. Nuttersuclan then attempted his last mission. Pup/Abandon Ship!/The Cloud hit just as it was supposed to, then his other ship was moved over, and didn't even need to rescue the crew that had been forced to abandon ship, there was enough Treachery on it to complete the mission. I should have used Ops to get Overseer Odo earlier on to get the Ore processed. I forgot to Assign Support Personnel a couple of turns, too. I'm not sure quite how much this would have helped, though. Where No Man showed up early, but the wormholes didn't. Final score: nuttersuclan scored 105 points, I got 105 points less than he did. Round 2 Bye BY (0) DarkSabre had to concede and withdraw from the tournament owing to computer problems. Man, that sucks. Look forward to playing you some other time. Round 3 Stuart Marsh FL (-100) Well... I started out ok... I got Surprise Party out early, which was good for draws. I got other draw engines in hand early, but it wasn't really worth drawing a bunch of extra cards. An early trick with Sloan, Captured, Prisoner Exchange and The Art Of Diplomacy lost me my Mission Specialists pretty early. I DH'd for Slar and used Ops to get Overseer Odo first turn, to get Ore Processing going. I got Bajoran Wormhole: Mirror Universe out early, but playing it was a mistake. Pretty soon, most of my important people had been Ceti Eel'd, from which I never quite recovered. My Mirror Terok Nor was commandeered, but I got it back with Mr Quark and Multidimensional Transport Device. This at least gave me my Brig back for Ungracious Hosts to hit. This got me back one of my Support Personnel. Alice captured my Morn, and Extradition captured my Security Chief Garak. SAM2000 pulled off a 2-mission win, solving a planet to get the Genesis Device, getting a bunch of points from Revenge Is A Dish, Genesis Device and Reliant, then solving the 2e Genesis Planet mission and losing 5 points to turn it into a Space mission. Final score: Sam2000 120, me 0. Round 4 Matt Kirk TT (0) Scheduling troubles prevented this round from happening, so a tie was declared.
