Introduction

Round 1JFL (-65)View opponent's Report
Round 1 - vs The Mad Vulcan: Always good to play against TMV. He seeded 3 under my planet, 2 under one space and 1 under the other. He had an Intrepid seeded with Home Away From Home on it. He went first, and felt comfortable attempting first. He was short a Medical for The Cloud. I still took a couple more turns to build up a good Away Team. TMV reattempted: Gravimetric Distortion was passed, Radioactive Garbage Scow gave him pause for another turn. I attempt. Pass Lack Of Prep, Trabe Grenade killed Maniz, Civil Unrest stopped 2, one of whom was needed for mission requirements. TMV had moved the Scow but left the solvers on the Outpost, played a shuttle and solved Heal Life-Form for 35 points. The shuttle joined up with Intrepid, and all the personnel moved to Liberation and attempted. Female's Love Interest relocated Stadi to my outpost mission. Civil Unrest stopped Tabor and Chell (the latter just isn't the same without a Portal gun), and Trabe Grenade killed Nimira. The skills were still there to solve. Full Win to Mr Vulcan, 65-0.

Round 2Rem BoonFW (+35)
Round 2 - vs Boon Of Bolian: With an AMS and a seeded person, Rem had a good head start. I went first and played a couple of folks, his first turn he played a couple of folks, downloaded a Kazon Disruptor Rifle, and set to attempting. I played The Phage and killed his Vidiian. Female's Love Interest missed, with no females present. Civil Unrest stopped Corez and Joe Carey, Trabe Grenade killed Maniz. This left Ayala to not solve the mission, all on his own. His next turn, the unstopped folk and some new arrivals solved the mission, Stop Bombardment. 40 points to Rem. His next turn, he goes across to his nearest Space mission, and attempts. The Cloud hit his Raider. Phew! I played an Intrepid, and moved across to my closest Space mission, and attempted. Common Thief stole my phaser. I didn't have the Stellar Cartography there to pass Navigational Hazards. Mr Of Bolian came across to his mission with another Raider, and attempted with two people. Gravimetric Distortion damaged that ship, too. I played a Bio-Neural Gel Pack on the Intrepid, and moved across to where the Raiders were. One had 2 cards on it, the other had 7. I shot at the one with 7, destroying it. The Intrepid was damaged as well, but it was worth it. Back at my Outpost, Cavit and Telfer board a Type 9 Shuttlecraft and head over to the mission, while the Intrepid also limped back there. I put everyone on the shuttle, and attempt. They pass Navigational Hazards, and that was the last dilemma under there. I solve Study Interstellar Colony for 35 points. It took a couple of turns to get the shuttle back to the Outpost. I left Maniz on the shuttle, remembering Crisis. I attempt with everyone else. First up: Crisis! Phew, good guess. Next up is Male's Love Interest, which took one of the Ayala twins across the spaceline to the opposing Outpost. Trabe Grenade killed Cavit. Finally, there was Hazardous Duty. I was short an Officer to pass it. I Regenerated, there were only three cards in my discard pile, and I drew them all to even up. (I didn't realise at that point that The Phage wouldn't be Regenerated in the rules of the format, that got cleared up when I tried to play it.) His Raider repaired, Mr Boon moved back to his Space mission. He passed Gravimetric Distortion two ways with 4 people. Lastly, Radioactive Garbage Scow. He'd used his Range for the turn. I played Cavit and Jetrel, and moved Maniz down from the shuttle. 3 Officer got me past Hazardous Duty. Seska, Saldin, Lon Suder and (Cavit OR Jabin) provided the mission skills, 40 more points to me, and the win. Rem seemed to have the game sewn up pretty early, I had to be a bit of a bastard to get myself in a position to catch up (Blowing Up Ships Isn't Nice), but it still ended up being pretty close, which was cool. My Space dilemmas helped, luck of the draw there. Good game! Final score: me 75, Boon Of Bolian 40.

Round 4 - vs OKCoyote: I didn't get comfortable enough to attempt, although I did get close to the mission with one dilemma under it. The Cloud combo hit nicely, as it has done previously. I didn't destroy the Intrepid left on the spaceline. Mr Coyote redshirted his Outpost mission, and I forgot to flip the Villagers With Torches I had on the table for That Very Reason. The redshirt busted through 2 (FLI misfired, Civil Unrest stopped him) then next turn Trabe Grenade killed an Ayala, but the skills were still there to solve. Both solved missions were 35 points and required an Astrophysics, an AMS and an Ayala boosted the points to 40 both times. Good game. Final score 80-0 to Mr Coyote.
