KlingonStarfleetBlock Southern Fried Klingon
Introduction
Well, I did the stupid thing and was trying to get some programs working on my computer rather than actually spending time and finishing the deck. So without proper testing and some pretty bad mistakes in the deck as the first game was supposed to start, I stole my dilemma combos from my previous Block deck, added some extra dilemmas to make the seed deck 30 cards, and 4 more missions to make it 6. This was not likely to go well.

Round 1 - vs OKCoyote This was my first time playing Mr Coyote, and we had fun. To start with, this was a mirror match: both playing Starfleet/Qu'Vat Klingons. We had 3 shared missions: Save Stranded Crew, Earth and Qu'Vat. Mr Coyote was running 6 planets. OKCoyote went first, and got K'Vagh out quickly, and started getting Absolute Power draws too. He downloaded Gareb on my turn for the extra draw (I probably ought to have followed his example there with my downloads). He didn't get to use Remote Interference draws for a while, due to my sticking to a time location for a while. He was also running with Orions, I was running with We're Ready. Mr Coyote was also running with all 3 Temporal Agents, pitching a Temporal Micro-Wormhole for Jameson. Smart move. I realise too late that HQ: War Room is a wasted card in my deck. If I come across a Klingon opponent who's running the Homeworld, maybe I'll get to use it. Mr Coyote was comfortable attempting first. He redshirted Free Orion Slaves with Vekma. The first dilemma was The Arsenal: Separated, which she could not pass on her own. Feeling daring, he brought the Starfleet crew over to give it a go. He busted through The Arsenal, but didn't have Exo or Geo for Microbrain. His next turn, he reattempted with everybody, Hoshi was stopped with Microbrain, but Linguistic Legerdemain was busted through. Last up was Restricted Area. Burrows volunteered to be captured, D'Nesh and Neras were randomly selected. As there is no way in Block for me to use them, they just sat useless on the table for the rest of the game. I got Phlox out and the Treaty, and moved the Columbia to the main spaceline with Out Of Time. Vina chose to be a Security, and Free Orion Slaves was solved. First points to Coyote, 35. After a little trip across the spaceline, Mr Coyote's minions attempted their next mission. Distracted By Thoughts Of Home was first, followed by Armus: Roulette. Vina, Harrad-Sar, Jameson and Hoshi were selected, I killed Vina and Jameson. Next up was Armus: Skin Of Weevils. Garrid (already dead in his picture) and Phlox kicked the proverbial bucket. God blew up the Columbia, leaving Sarajevo at the location. On my way to a mission, I realised I should have left Daniels at the Outpost. I doubled back and sent him to research some Augments. The OK Minions solved the cleared-out Visit Tranquil Colony, taking him to 70. I finally reached my mission, Automated Repair Station. I attempt. Armus Energy Field is first, Hoshi and Trip were stopped, but I didn't have the mission skills. The Nguq'Yab (hereafter known as "The Klingon Ship") had the skills on, and Daniels too, so moved across to attempt. Volok and K'Vagh are stopped by Armus, I still have a Volok and enough Cunning to continue. Chula The Chandra chose Daniels to continue, Antaak is the only person to match an attribute. Friendly Fire found one Security and no Leadership. Mr Coyote decked out, I had a card left in my draw deck and Isomagnetically Disintegrated it. A little after this, I realised that an Augment I had in play was unique, and I had him twice. Oops. That was rectified. the opposition attempted another mission, I think this was Save Stranded Crew. It was shared, and I needed somewhere to put Space dilemmas. First up was the mis-seeded Armus Energy Field. Then was Mr Coyote's Founder Secret... which he realised he couldn't pass. Friendly Fire reached the end of its countdown, the Klingon crew returned to solve it. 30 to me. The Columbia reached the Starfleet mission, I attempt. Microbrain stopped Hoshi. A downloaded Armus (Mr Coyote had 2 All-Consuming Evils on the table, I had one) killed Travis and Phlox (also discarding Space Boomer). Chula The Chandra picked Porthos, and no-one matched his attributes. And his skills didn't help with Linguistic Legerdemain. An opposing The Klingon Ship attacked the Columbia, and damaged it. Then, it destroyed it. Porthos, taking a trip on Raptor One, made it across to Armus's homeworld. Founder Secret was passed, Dedication To Duty was a mis-seed, Fractured Time vanished Erika Hernandez, Jeffrey Pierce, Daniels and Martrex (2 Temporal Agents down!) War Games was another mis-seed, Q's Vicious Animal Things were passed now the Away Team had been whittled down, Difference Of Opinion stopped 4. This left him without the mission requirements. I solved Prevent Rebellion. He solved Save Stranded Crew, and moved next door to Romulus to attempt. Flim-Flam Artist was first, and not passed. Next turn, it was passed, as was Founder Secret. Skin Of Evil killed Volok and Marab, Cardassian Processing was easily passed. Romulus was easily solved for 30 mre points, this took Mr Coyote to 130 points. The Klingon Ship was blown up while it was trying to get across to my other Space mission. I played a useless card (should have checked that wording more carefully on Council Of Warriors), and time was up. Because time was up, I drew both cards in my draw deck to make a double deck-out. Final score: Modified Win to OKCoyote with 130 points, I had 65.

Round 2 - vs Scox This game was pretty swift. Scox was playing Feds, and surprisingly we only duplicated one mission: Automated Repair Station. My opening hand contained HQ War Room and Council Of Warriors, and I kept drawing into things I would much rather have downloaded: Vulcan Tricorder, the Starfleet ships, and so on. My first K'vagh got into my hand at the end of my last turn, Antaak, Phlox and Daniels were nowhere to be seen, so I basically did nothing all game. Scox's deck drew very efficiently. Duck Blind was working from Turn 1, and of course 2 Continuing Mission draws per turn. His first attempt was at Avert Solar Implosion. He attempted with 5 people. Distracted By Thoughts Of Home/Armus Roulette killed Picard and Worf and stopped two more. Skin Of Evil killed the remaining Davies. After Distracted had counted down, the remaining two attempted, and fell afoul of God, who smote the Oberth. The newly-played Drake came over with a relief crew, and solved the mission, 35 points. A couple of turns later, the Drake had returned and some of the crew beam down and attempt Visit Tranquil Colony. Flim-Flam Artist got me a card, and was easily passed. Founder Secret wasn't easily passed. The Drake moved with some folk who had been absent from the attempt, and attempted Amnesty Talks. Magnetic Field disruptions killed Martin, due to a deplorable lack of Astrophysics or Navigation. Distracted By Thoughts Of Home preceded Subspace Shock Wave, which damaged the Drake, and killed Shelby and Kwan. This left the crew without the command star. Next turn, an Oberth was played. The folk at the Outpost (with Strategic Base benefits) bust through Founder Secret, Skin Of Evil killed Lopez and MENDOZA (well, one of him). Cardassian Processing... is really badly placed at the end of this combo. I really need to rethink this. The mission as solved, bringing Scox to 70 points. A Surprise Party was pitched to let the remnants of the Drake attempt the space mission. Difference Of Opinion stopped Dr Syrus. The Oberth with Everybody Else came and joined the Drake, and Amnesty Talks was solved, winning Scox the game with 105 points. Final score: Scox wins, 105 to 0.

Round 3 - vs Warpaw: Mr Paw was playing TNG Feds. Both of us did a bunch of playing and drawing, TNG really has an edge on drawing, an one of the flaws of my deck was only one Surprise Party, which was fashionably, but inconsiderately, late. General K'Vagh showed up in my opening hand, the augments started showing up way later. I got Hoshi and We're Ready pretty early, too. We shared 2 mission, both Space. That was all my Space missions, but Mr Paw had another one. After amassing a vast number of people, he took nine of them over to his non-shared Space mission, and hit a Dead End. He took people back to his outpost and attempted that mission, coincidentally named "The Last Outpost". Flim Flam Artist got me a draw, and was passed. Armus Skin Of Evil took exception to Sito Jaxa and Robert DeSoto. Cardassian Processing was passed by Sunad and a bunch of remaining Strength, but not enough Strength was left for Founder Secret. He took the rest of his people, beamed them down, passed Founder Secret, and solved the mission, 35 points. I got the Columbia to the main spaceline, and attempted Qu'Vat. Friendly Fire was passed, Difference Of Opinion found no Non-Aligned people, Founder Secret found me short of Strength. Warpaw attempted Avert Solar Implosion with nineteen people. Distracted By Thoughts Of Home did its thing, Armus Roulette killed Baran and Sunad, leaving Geordi and Remmick stopped. Skin Of Evil killed Lian T'su and Daniel Kwan, God blew up the Enterprise. Adam drew his last card, game ends double deck-out. Fun game, glad I don't have to play with that deck anymore. Modified Win to Warpaw, he got 35 points, I got none.
