Round 1Non-AlignedHirogenJon CarterFL (-100)View opponent's Report
Round 1 - vs pfti: The venerable Rules Master was playing Delta Quadrant, Non-Aligned and Hirogen. He played lots very quickly. I didn't do quite so well at that. 5 Kobayashi Marus went on my missions, the only one that missed out there was Romulus. I didn't get the Espionage on that mission. I got Process Ore out, even manned, but didn't end up using it. pfti attempted first. Magnetic Field Disruptions stopped Paxim. Reluctant Informant missed, Kes nullified it. Gomtuu Shock Wave was very easily passed. The mission (Investigate Quantum Singularity) was nearly solved, but not enough Engineer there at that point. A later turn it was solved with a Mission Specialist (+50). Another mission attempt started (Restore Victims), I grabbed You Are A Monument. Edo Probe was first, the attempt was abandoned. He headed over to another mission. Flim-Flam got me a draw, and then was discarded. I'm Not Going To Fight You was next. I saw someone with Strength 8 and someone with Strength 9, I didn't get El-Adrel creature. Nausicaans stopped someone, Rebel Encounter stopped someone else, but the megahordes of people there easily passed the Strength. Seven solved the mission (Assist Co-Operative) (+40 =90) I attempted Abduction Plot. Varel was taken by Kobayashi, I had no Computer Skill left for Ferengi Ingenuity. Access Denied was grabbed. Restore Victims was reattempted with a small Away Team. Combo Plague Ship sent Cyrus across the spaceline, and killed everyone else (most were holograms, he wasn't sure a hologram could relocate enough to save everyone else). Then the hordes were sent down. Combo Scow sent a Seven for a romantic liaison with Mr Redblock. The scow was moved, the folk couldn't make it back that turn. I played more Computer Skill. I couldn't do the Homeworlds either side of that mission (one Leadership for Cardassia, no Espionage for Earth - I could have played a Selok, but couldn't get the Tal Shiar there). I guess I could have made it to Chin'toka, wasn't sure that was a good idea. Neither was reattempting Abduction Plot, but that's what I did. 2 Romulan Engineers got stopped, Dejaren/Cyrus killed Lemec, Dejaren killed Dolak. All stopped. Mr Carter swept across and solved Restore Victims for the win (+55 =145). Good game. I knew this deck would have trouble in Open, but ouch. Full Win to Pfti, 145 to 0.

Round 2 - vs The Mad Vulcan: I don't think I realised this last game, but in the seed phase of this one I realised I couldn't Process Ore as I didn't have a planet mission to put the Nor at. Oops. J was playing TNG Non-Aligned, and so my missions were broken up a little, but not too bad. My draw/play setup wasn't too bad, I got the Secure Homeworld out, and the Espionages, and got Farek to the Clone Machine. I only got one play to the Machine in the whole game: Telak, and he didn't do much. J attempted first, not at Burial Site as I suspected, but at Feldomite Rush. Local Trouble was first, Merc Riker had the Anthro, and Lore was there, Strength was no problem. Punishment Zone killed Nick Locarno, Hunter Gangs killed Vekor (but not Sunad). Next up was The Vengeance Factor. There were no enhancements so I put Yuta to be encountered first, and called out Merc Riker's number, 5. Lore came out first with a number of 2, then Will Riker was second and he died. Last up was The Gatherers, and doubled with The Vengeance Factor they had no chance of passing it. No Equipments or Artifacts were present there (Horga'hn was under the mission and had yet to be earned), and a Handshake was discarded from his hand. Here's where my first ship started trundling down the spaceline to put Farek on the Nor. After that I headed for Romulus. J reattempted Feldomite now that The Vengeance Factor was gone, then realised that the last card there was a self-seed. And that he couldn't complete the mission. He threw down a Hidden Fighter for a Zibalian Transport and moved across to Amnesty Talks. Armus Energy Field stopped a Soong-Type Android, that had Female and Engineer. Sunad and Lore had the mission requirements. With the Engineer STA stopped, Birth Of Junior hit. Cytherians sent the ship towards my end of the spaceline. I sent a bunch of unimportant mooks to attempt Romulus, they got stopped by Blended. Romulus was on the end of the spaceline, I parked the ship next door at Chin'toka. J came across with another crew to attempt Amnesty Talks, and solved (+35), hitting a self-seeded Nexus on the way. That scooped up all my people at Romulus, and at the end of his turn it blew up my ship at Chin'toka and scooped up that crew as well. I had the Deranas out at the Romulan Outpost, and played the Reklar to Cardassia (they were right next to each other). Both were one short on staffing, so I played all my folk from the Nexus to Cardassia and got both ships going. Using 3 Mission Specialists, J solved Feldomite Rush (+50 =85). He figured Horga'hn wouldn't really help him, so didn't use it. The Zibalian Transport exploded. I threw some folk at Cardassia. Varel made it through Picking Up The Pieces. I hadn't left Transporter Skill on the ship (though I thought I ought to right after I announced the entire crew was attempting). Varel was captured. I brought the other crew across and attempted. I Hate You was the last remaining dilemma, and it seemed my only youth in the entire deck had been captured. Oops. J reported Tolian Soran, and he was flown into the Nexus (+20 =105FW to J). That game didn't seem quite as uneven as the previous round, even though I think I got the same score. Final score: J got 105, I got 0.

Round 3DominionAdam WarpinskiFW (+100)
Round 3 - vs Warpaw: Mr Paw was running Dominion, with 2 Gamma missions and 4 construct Depots in the Alpha Quadrant. 2 were at the right-hand side of the Quadrant. On the end I put the combo with Combo Scow (he would have to move it to another of his missions), and the one next to that I put the Cytherians combo (sending him towards my fleet would probably be helpful). As I started, Adam's Tribunal download was Shape-Shift Inhibitor. I played a couple folks for free and a War Room, and the Deranas on my first turn. When we sorted out what he was doing with his Homefront Toraan went back to hand. That was ok. We played a bunch and drew a bunch. I was accumulating people on the Deranas pretty fast. The 2e card Seeing Double was played to get a Founder Leader onto the Deranas. After Masakaing, Shape-Shift was downloaded to replace the Founder Leader with a Lovok Founder. Gelnon had to be discarded to let this happen. I got Dr Farek onto the Nor (I hadn't needed to yet, even though I could move the ship and the Nor was right next to the Romulan Outpost). Warpaw played his Jem'hadar Warship. I attempted Abduction Plot with my horde on the Deranas. This was where my Romulan Outpost was. Chula The Lights sent N'Vek back to hand. Chula The Chandra selected Selok. Most of my people were Integrity of 4, so continued, and Mirok shared another attribute. Toraan and Data were the only ones who didn't continue. Chula The Dice stopped me. No Integrity>6 (except the stopped Data). Seeing Double got the Founder Agitator onto the Deranas, Assassination Plot picked Exobiology. Takket, Data and Toraan all qualified. Data was selected. I had to wait for more Integritous people and the Ready Room door for Lower Decks. I drew into the Espionage, so moved the ship with Tal Shiar to Romulus (not very far away). Then I got to play the Espionage for free, and ditch the Plans to get the other one to Earth. I got Macet to Cardassia, and was moving a Cardassian ship or two up the spaceline, but I played T'Jev to the Deranas and got Lower Decks out, so reattempted and got through the Dice. Abduction Plot was solved, with one Mission Specialist (+40). Adam got his ship staffed, and got a bunch of people from the Homeworld across to Rescue Founder, and attempted. First up was Local Trouble. Odo had Anthropology, and the Strength there was no trouble (Founder Architect is wonderful. And so you know, I'm not saying that sarcastically, he's probably my favourite Founder card). Next up was the downloaded Punishment Zone, which selected Odo. Adam chose to lose the points (-5). Hunter Gangs selected Luaran and Founder Architect. The former died, but due to the number of Events in play, the latter survived. Next up was The Vengeance Factor. Yuta was first. I hoped I'd calculated Kira Founder's number correctly (I knew I had to take into account Dominion PADD, I hoped I hadn't forgotten anything else). Founder Agitator was safe, as was Leyton Founder. Kira Founder was next, and she kicked the proverbial bucket. The Gatherers was next, and with The Vengeance Factor in play, that was a lot of Integrity to try to find. It wasn't there, so the Dominion PADD exploded, and a Walls Have Ears was discarded from hand. After sorting crews, I sent the Deranas to Earth. I left Toraan on the Deranas, just in case, that was the only ship there. Chula: Echoes selected Mirok, Taibak and Tomalak, with War Room, Tomalak ensured they were all stopped. Next up was Chula: The Abyss. Telle, Tacil and Varel were selected, they serendipitously got to continue. Chula: Move Along Home was next, and it selected Telle, Takket and Telak. All were enhanced by the Romulan Disruptor, 2 by their respective War Rooms and 2 by Lower Decks. All their Strengths were odd, so they got to continue, too. Chula: Unfortunate Roll was the last up, picking Lovok Founder, Varel and Telak. They got stopped, and those two Tal Shiar were the only ones in the mission attempt, preventing the solve. The Trager came across, with 2 Gul Madreds on board, a Selok, and some more Cardies. They all attempted, Madred and his clone solved (+40 =80). There was no Bajoran Wormhole in play, so there was no going across and stealing Intelligence Operation. I went across to Recover Prisoner and gave that a go (with a backup crew on standby, just in case). First up was The Clown: Beneath The Mask. With the Disruptor and War Room, Tomalak passed it fairly easily. The Clown: Playing Doctor was next, and selected Dolak (with Treachery first-listed). Telak and Taibak joined him in the discard pile. Chula: Crossroads probed a Q The Referee, I was surprised to find that was the last card in the deck, as I'd Masakad a Process Ore and an Isomagnetic Disintegrator under there and hadn't drawn into them yet. (there has been a Lackey error not showing the right number of cards in an opposing draw deck, and when "Recover Autosave" is used, and probably Load Saved Game for that matter, cards can be lost. I'm guessing that's what happened). I stopped Lovok Founder and Takket, as I didn't need them for the solve. Between them Tacil and Toraan solved the mission, Selok was on the backup ship. (+30 =110). Good game. Sorry that Adam got a bit of the Rakal Shuffle, there, but the shenanigans he got to try were fun. Final score: I got 110 and the Full Win, Warpaw got -5.
