Introduction

Round 1FederationJFL (-90)View opponent's Report
Round 1 - vs The Mad Vulcan: My third game and J's second this tournament, we shared Evaluate Terraforming and Espionage Mission. J got Geordi out and peeked at Hologram Ruse under Reported Activity. A few turns later he microteamed it, got through Hologram Ruse, Blended stopped someone (Picard, I think), then had to discard a card from hand with The Gatherers. His next turn he solved the mission and gained a Tox Uthat. (+40) Ouch. I attempted at Plague Planet, but was short an Engineer for Alien Labyrinth. J got a ship to Cargo Rendezvous and peeked at the Lack Of Prep there. He decided to go for it. He passed the Lack, of course, then Lightner hit a Frame Of Mind to get him Music and Acquisition. Ooby Dooby found 2 Music and no Youth, so no draws just discards. I got through Alien Labyrinth, Armus killed Alyssa Ogawa (my one Biology in play - ouch!), Hunter Gangs killed Lightner and Commander Troi, and the way was then barred by a Hidden Entrance. I got what I needed out, but didn't clear the dilemma as I was lacking the Biology to solve. J solved Cargo Rendezvous (+40). He earned another Tox, and a little later he played one. I Scanner Interferenced an Atmospheric Ionization to Earth. I got 5 Parallax points. a little later I got 5 more. J Supernovad my Outpost mission, where all my people were, and I didn't have any ships out yet. I had all my Ready Room Doors in play, so I could Wall Of Ships an Enterprise-C into play, but I couldn't Regenerate Rachel Garret into the deck and RRD her there and play an Outpost. I was out of the game. J went for Paxan Wormhole. He peeked there with Geordi (Theta Radiation Poisoning), rearranged his crews and accidentally lost the Nebula to the far end of the spaceline. He attempted with another crew, Theta hit the Enterprise, Maglock was not got past. Data died to the Theta, the Enterprise got moved to where the nebula had recently been. J daisy-chained all his people back to Paxan, this time on the Yamato. Maglock was got past. Strict Dress Code prompted Beverly to download the EMH Program for immediate sacrifice. there was plenty of Integrity for conundrum, and the mission got solved (+35 =115). Good game. Final score: the Mad Vulcan got 115, I got 10.

Round 2lotjxFW (+30)
Round 2 - vs lotjx: This was my first game played. So we started with some technical difficulties, and ended up playing kinda separately. I imported the mission he sad he played, and placed them appropriately, and annotated the spaceline using the Lackey feature where it seemed appropriate ("Fed Outpost") I'm glad his deck wasn't more interactive! Mine, too. I got the Treaty out early, but only got Major Rakal into play (Selok showed up in hand but I had better stuff to play, the other Tal Shiar didn't show up at all). I got the Espionage out before that. I played all 4 Parallax Arguers in the game, all got me Event plays. I attempted first, at Plague Planet (my Outpost mission). Alyssa and Darian encountered Love Interests, and got stranded together on Excavation. Barclay's killed Dr Royse and Ira Graves. Once the Enterprise had staffing, I sent it off after them (just about lamenting that I'd Masakad the WNOHGB). Joe attempted Investigate Anomaly (his Outpost mission). Lack Of Prep was first, easily passed. Frame Of Mind was second, turning a Mission Specialist (Richard Wilkins) into a Support Personnel. I gave him Music (for the upcoming Dooby of Ooby) and Acquisition (which I didn't remember was in the card pool until I drew into Kivas Fajo - Personnel). Ooby Dooby let Joe draw one and made him discard 2. I believe at this point the mission was not solved as the Frame reduction of attributes pushed it below solving. He had a self-seeded Crystalline Entity under there, too, which got him 5 points, and then the solve of the mission pushed him to 35. Here I rescued the Perfect Couple. Joe played an Outpost on Repair Mission, the next mission over. I played First Contact Beverly, allowing me to solve Plague Planet with the folk I'd been accumulating over there. This put me on 30. Joe attempted Repair Mission. I put Theta-Radiation Poisoning on his ship, which was kinda useless as he'd already downloaded Medical Kit with FC Alyssa. Maglock did stop him as Lisa Azar was not strong enough. He came back next time with a phaser. Maglock was passed, Strict Dress Code killed somebody, and Conundrum missed. The mission was solved (+35 =70). I bust through the dilemmas at Evaluate Terraforming. Darian Wallace died to something. I may have used 2 Away Teams. I solved it, anyway (+35 =65). Joe attempted Excavation, got stopped by Q's vicious Animal Things. I used a Scanner Interference to put Atmospheric Ionization on Excavation. Kevin Uxbridge Converged on it to make it go away. Joe reattempted. Firestorm killed Frame Of Mind dude (and no-one else). Primitive Culture stopped him in his tracks. I think this is where I went on to attempt Study Nebula. I got through all the dilemmas, before realising there was no Stellar Cartography in play. Oops. More oops is there being none in the deck. I think I started the next mission, Fissure Research. I had the Integrity for Q, but not the Leadership. Joe attempted Study Plasma Streamer, way on the end of the spaceline. Shaka was passed, Ktarian Game was beaten, Birth Of Junior Mints was overcome, Cytherians sent everyone to the other end of the spaceline, the long way round. the Enterprise C was docked at my Fed Outpost, and I think that the Borg Ship that I revealed at Study Nebula damaged that at this time (one Shield point!) Seems like that was a bit early for that, but I'm not keeping the greatest track of what was when. I daisy-chained Rachel Garrett over to Fissure Research, attempted with more people and solved. In there was a 14-point loss with The Higher The Fewer, so I only got up to 86 rather than the 100. I played an Intellectual Property Scanner and sent everyone to attempt Tarchannen Study. I tried splitting skills up evenly between the crew and the Away Team. I lucked through the dilemmas, mostly with the Away Team. I solved, with a big sigh of relief, +40 =126. Final score 126 to 70, and I'm sure it was more luck than judgement. Good game, a lot of fun.

Round 3Chris MorseFL (-100)
Round 3 - vs Trekker777: My second game. The spaceline was divided down the middle, with a shared Espionage Mission being the dividing line. I got Geordi early, and peeked at Plague Planet (my Outpost mission, right next to Earth) to reveal an Edo Probe. Like an idiot I didn't attempt it, and so a mission was already completed before I abandoned an attempt there. That mission also got an Atmospheric Ionization on it pretty early. It took me forever to get a ship, and that was with Wall Of Ships after a Parallax Arguers (my second, the first gave me 5 points). I took the Enterprise and a substantial crew to Fissure Research (the next one along). They got through Conundrum, lost 12 points to The Higher The Fewer (putting me on -7), and then got stuck with Scout Encounter/QS Lifeforms. There they stayed til the end of the game. One more turn and I could have staffed the C to nullify QS with Guinan (though if I'd waited that extra turn to attempt, I could have nullified QS with her when I encountered it). Chris had similar luck getting Geordi out early, so he went along the spaceline peeking at things. He spotted an Edo Probe early and did basically the same as I did, and he peeked at the mission with Theta-Radiation Poisoning and Lack Of Prep. He tried the Lack Of Prep combo first, at Investigate Disappearance. FC Troi got Frame Of Minded, and one card got drawn with Ooby and one discarded. The mission was solved with 2 Specialists (45). Chris then followed my example of abandoning at Edo, and went on to Test Mission. By the time he attempted here, he had 6 Engineer for Theta, but got stuck at Maglock. When he came back, he got through Maglock, killed Picard to Strict Dress, and passed Conundrum. (+25 =70). Then he moved back to the Edo mission, and forgot to peek at the next one. 15 points were lost to Higher The Fewer (-15 =55), leaving just enough points to pas Dead End. He solved Reported Activity with 2 Mission Specialists, bringing him to an even hundred. Final score: Trekker777's 100 to my -7.
