Was anyone NOT playing Maquis? |
Introduction |
So I pulled Julian, Jadzia, and Benjamin so playing Baj/Fed meant I basically got 2 of each and that rubbed me wrong so I went Maquis figuring they would augment the deck. Odo was my TMW play. I played 4 Mirror Matches |
|
Round 1 | | Tim Gerrard | FW (+70) |
Mirror match, Ok here we go! I think dilemma choice and placement are the keys to these types of match-ups. When placing dilemmas as shared missions, you want to play to your strength and your opponent's weaknesses, of course. The problem is your strengths are theirs and their weaknesses are yours. |

|
Round 2 | | Paddy Tye | FW (+65) |
As has already been the case, Mirror Matches are really tough in this environment and I think I just got ahead and stayed there. |
|
|
Round 3 | | Maggie Geppert | FL (-65) |
I placed my outpost first I believe and I chose poorly. Maggie lucked into a draw of The Call Themselves The Maquis and what more can I say? She played well, of course, but TCTTM is perhaps to strong in this pool. |

|
Round 4 | | Mr.Sloan | FW (+65) |
Christian had the bad luck to run into dilemmas stopping him cold right next to my mega crew opening the door for me to steal his 40 mission and again at another shared mission. There was only one mission of mine he could not attempt and i solved it first. |

Closing Thoughts |
Clearly this particular event went heavy Maquis. I think Maggie's pull of TCTTM and my poor choice of Outpost placement were the deciding factors as I could not keep pace with her and it was my only loss.
There needs to be some more mission options. With 5 players playing Maquis and a 6th splashing in Maquis and TCTTM with Baj/Fed, there was too little variation. The other 2 decks were a 2nd Baj/Fed and 1 Cardassian, and even then probably only due to the Terok Nor pull. No Dominion in the field. |
